Spent $1200 on a meal to have to wait 45 mins for a reserved table, the coat check attendants to mix up our tags, the servers to drop dishes down without helping serve us, the risotto we ordered to never come, and the doorman to hold a group of us inside the vestibule while we were leaving so we wouldn’t let any cold air inside the restaurant. What?!? CRAZY. Insane.

Came for a big birthday celebration with 8 people and had a great experience! The service was truly fantastic and so was the food.

The rigatoni alla vodka and bolognese were standouts. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the sauces were just right - simple but delicious. The chilean sea bass fell apart to the touch. The cucumber salad was crisp and bright. All the desserts were yummy - vanilla meringue cake was fluffy and airy.

The only issue is how small the restaurant is. When I say tight quarters… i mean TIGHT! You don’t even know where to stand because a million waiters and patrons are constantly trying to maneuver through the place. It’s quite overstimulating, luckily we were a large party that was seated in the back.

Cipriani Downtown was fantastic! The service was truly impeccable and the atmosphere warm and inviting. The Baby Artichoke and Avocado Salad with Shaved Parmesan..WOW! The steak tartare was excellent. We had the calf’s liver, which was absolutely out of this world, so rich and flavorfu! The rigatoni with zucchini was delicious. For dessert, the mille-feuille was so light and the perfect finish to the meal. Everything was beautifully prepared and the entire experience felt effortless and elegant. Highly recommend!

Luxury Dining

Dining at Cipriani SoHo comes with high expectations. With its storied name and prime location, one anticipates a seamless experience—elegance in service, care in execution, and a pace that invites lingering. Unfortunately, our recent visit fell short on all fronts.

From the outset, our waiter seemed inattentive. A simple request for sparkling water was ignored and still water arrived instead—an early indication that listening was not a priority. When appetizers came, we were surprised to find ourselves rushed through the course. Plates were nearly whisked away with food still untouched—at least half remaining. It was clear the flow of the evening was being dictated by the server’s timing, not ours.

The wine service, too, was below standard. One glass arrived with a modest 3 to 5 oz pour, while the other was noticeably short—both inconsistent and far from the level of refinement expected at a restaurant of this caliber.

Despite politely expressing that we were hoping to take the evening slowly and savor the experience, that sentiment was dismissed. The service remained hurried and transactional, robbing the moment of the indulgence and atmosphere Cipriani is meant to offer.

In a space that prides itself on luxury, hospitality is more than polished decor and a familiar name—it is attentiveness, pacing, and respect for the guest’s experience. Sadly, this visit missed the mark.

In a city that devours its own enthusiasms weekly, Cipriani Downtown on West Broadway is a reliable pleasure - white tablecloths, perfect light, the whipped cod. This is excellence that refuses to apologize for knowing what it is.
And there is Fabio.
Amazing. Attentive.
He moves through the room with that rare alchemy of warmth and discretion, remembering not just names but the small human details that transform service into recognition. He anticipates without hovering. This is craft.
The pasta arrives as it should. The vegetables treated with respect. Nothing revolutionary - something harder: consistency as art.
In Manhattan’s relentless churn, here is sanctuary. Here is the permission to return, to be known, to find the same grace waiting.
Not nostalgia. The present, done properly.

Horrible restaurant we went to celebrate our anniversary dissatisfied experience.. it’s outrageous to charge 40 us for a portion of Arborio rice with cream and uncooked.. our server as soon as we didn’t orden alcohol ignored us was rude… we have to ask for our check three times!!! Very disappointing terrible service and the food horrible… don’t go to the SoHo restaurant… don’t waste your money!

👎🏻 poor guest reception; the guy that was supervising the bar area/ entrance of the restaurant who acted as the hostess, was abrupt and rude. We waited 30 minutes for a table with reservations.
Food was just ok 2.5 out 5

The place was really crowded and we had to wait though we had a right reservation. It is really noisy spot to chat with old fellows, but if you are for the first time I would recommend you to be ready for such atmosphere. Again may be because of the crowdness we had to wait for our meals either. We ordered several types of pasta and I would rate them 7 out of 10. For a dessert we tried their bestseller but I wouldn't say it was incredible.

Place was empty on Monday night and they didn't make the slightest try to get tables for people waiting, also waiters are very rude. Skip it in NY go somewere else or go to Italy and eat real Italian food

An absolutely awful dinner. Service was unacceptable. We waited an hour breeen our appetizers and main courses and had to repeatedly ask on the status of our order. Once the food arrived the branzino was served on a lonely plate without any garnish and dry and on another plate overcooked broccoli rabe. Veal picatine was slightly better but definitely not worth the wait or the price.
