Contra offers elite desserts with creative combinations and impeccable service. The dishes are creative yet unfussy, providing a nice change from other fine dining restaurants. The food and drinks are highly praised, with many describing them as life-changing. The 9-course meal is superb, and the scallops are amazing. The bread is so good you could eat it for all 9 courses. Guests enjoy a fantastic cocktail bar experience with inventive recipes and friendly, accommodating staff. The cocktails are delicious, with the passion fruit being perfectly fruity and bubbly, and the Xipe Totec reminding one of an old fashion but with a surprise. The Gouda Cheese and Wings were some of the favorites, and all were a culinary experience in true small plate fashion. The tomato tart, scallop, mussels, and cheese and umeboshi offered many flavors that were a delight. The snack mix was hearty. The experience exceeded expectations on the food side, with the food outstanding, creative, delicious, and elegantly displayed. The service was great hospitality, warm and friendly as well as extremely knowledgeable. The music was on par with the whole experience, perfectly blended not overshadowing allowing for great conversation. The place is small and seating is very close together, and the section on the back doesn't feel as nice as the front.
