Dao Dim Sum on Madison has officially stolen my heart — and my appetite — with one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Every single dish was beyond phenomenal. If you’re looking for a place that consistently delivers flavor, freshness, and pure culinary joy, this is *the* spot.

I indulged in a lineup of dishes, and not one missed the mark:

**• Salt & Pepper Lobster** — Perfection. Crispy, tender, seasoned flawlessly. Every bite felt like fireworks.
**• Salt & Pepper Calamari** — Light, crunchy, and unbelievably addictive. I could eat this every day.
**• Cucumber Salad** — Refreshing, crisp, and the ideal balance to all the rich flavors.
**• Scallion & Ginger Lobster** — Aromatic, buttery, and absolutely luxurious. A standout dish that melts in your mouth.
**• Fried Noodles with Shrimp Soup** — Comforting, flavorful, and the kind of dish you crave long after you leave.
**• Salt & Pepper Shrimp** — Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked with so much skill it should be illegal.

Every plate was a hit. The flavors were bold, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The portions were generous, the presentation was gorgeous, and the overall quality was top-tier.

Update: 6/25/26 I've told myself I must try Evelyn on the menu. Today I had the Salt and pepper lamb chops and the pineapple ribs. As always the food was superb. I can't get enough of this place.

Genuinely the best hot & sour soup I’ve ever had! My husband and I stopped in for a light lunch, steamed dim sum and soup. Incredible. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in the city!

I tried dumping on my NYC trip . The food is just good and the server boy is really good too but the girl who did nothing with our table is told me like only 10% tip while we gave cash $13 tip on $78 while waiting tooo long on food but she told me like how much she want from us? Such a terrible server and never met a server like this ….. never come back again …

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve had. Loved the dim sum, Peking duck, tofu skin, and bok choy.

After hearing great things about this restaurant, I finally had the chance to visit, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The food was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great attention to detail. Every dish had its own unique character, and the quality was noticeable from the very first bite. The staff was welcoming and attentive, creating an experience that felt personal rather than rushed. This is the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression.

We came here based on the positive reviews and were VERY disappointed. We visited at noon on a Tuesday and were pretty sure we got microwaved leftovers from the day before. Nothing tasted fresh. Everything tasted old and too chewy, not freshly made. The soup dumplings were impenetrable instead of soft. Not sure what the positive reviews are about.

Ordered chew fun with beef. Steamed Pork ribs, beef tripes, and crab spinish dumpling. Taste not too bad but the meats were low quality, beef was cold and tough, pork ribs was very fatty chewy. The crab dumpling had fishy taste. Quite disappointed tbh as we expect more for this restaurant located at Madison Street mid town.

The women at the entrance was so rude. Had a booking at 8.30 and got there 10 mn late .. she refused to give us a table! Went to to Nan Xang Soup restaurant instead!

The dim sum signature platter was the bomb. Seafood-centric but that's how I like it. Sampled some of my daughter's orders of pork buns and lotus-wrapped sticky rice. We also shared some fried milk pudding. The mango drink was delicious and refeshing. I don't eat dim sum on the regular, but I would go out of my way to get Dao's.

Amazing service and good food! I came for the dim sum and was running low on time so unfortunately had to take out.
The atmosphere is so lovely I was sad I didn't dine in. I have to come back.
The dumplings were wonderful and they were kind to give me extra chili peppers since I like things spicy.
