A great alternative for those not used to the "typical American diet" or the cost of living. Fresh and very tasty products. This one in particular has the "self service" option to prepare a salad or hot dishes.
A year or two ago, I would have given Deli on Madison 5 stars. However, recently the prices went up, quality went down, the service is less friendly and now they charge $1 extra for lettuce and tomato on sandwiches.
A really great place, excellent food and that pumped up NYC athmosphere. We've been having lunch here every other day every time we've been visiting NYC. You can have almost any kind of food in the world, lots of it on the healthy side (fish & veggies). This is really NYC, if you're looking for something calm & peaceful, you should try smaller cities or the countryside
