Después de meses me pude tomar una Inca kola y me comí "El Lomo Saltado", que Lomo, espectacular. Como Peruano lo Recomiendo 100%, felicidades!!!
Great authentic Peruvian food , the best ceviche that isn’t ridiculously overpriced in the city ! As a person who comes from South American background and grew up in Queens going to many Peruvian restaurants the flavor is definitely worth the trip to Essex Market in LES if you want an authentic ceviche mixto in Manhattan.

Don Ceviche (Market) offers an array of authentic Peruvian dishes, featuring a quinoa version of chaufa that provides a healthy option. The mixed quinoa dish, which includes chicken and shrimp, is infused with sesame and onion aromas. While it may need a touch of salt, the green sauce enhances the flavors. The restaurant also has a marine/marino combo, ideal for sharing. Reviews mention the delicious ceviche, with some customers noting the need for improvement in dishes like lomo saltado, which was described as overcooked during a visit. The arroz chaufa has been compared to a chaufa de mariscos, indicating a variation in taste.
The ceviche has received mixed reviews; some enjoyed it, while others commented on its presentation and texture. The leche de tigre was highlighted as a standout element, providing a bold and complex flavor. The fried calamari was praised for being crispy and tender. The service at Don Ceviche can vary, with some staff members providing exceptional kindness and competence, while others were less memorable. Overall, Don Ceviche remains a great spot for Peruvian food enthusiasts, offering a variety of options in a well-thought-out space.
