Stumbled upon Dutch Freds early this Friday evening. (May 2025)
As per tradition when bestie and I are headed to a broadway show we head to the theater district find parking and pick a random spot for a bite to eat before curtain call.
This Friday the parking God’s were on our side but Mother Nature was not. As the rain started to fall we dipped in to Dutch Freds. At 5:30/6pm there were no tables available but we found spots at the bar.
Service, food, and decor were all very good. We kept it simple with wings, sliders, fries, & a kale salad to share. In addition to a couple of cocktails. Everything was tasty especially the drinks. However, it was tad pricey given what we ordered, no entrée’s only shareable starters and our tab was up there. Nonetheless you get what you pay for and the food and service was very good.
This was a nice find, that hit the spot and saved us from the rain on our way to be theatre geeks. Lol
Just A Note:
They offer a brunch with unlimited tea cup cocktails.
Very chill but upbeat music type place. Great fast friendly service, too. Perfect portion meals and well seasoned. We will come back.
Great weekend brunch with true bottomless drinks for $30. Abby was a great server. The food was delicious with big portions. We can highly recommend the huevos rancheros and the chicken waffle. Our neighbor's pancakes were huge and looked great.
This place is really cool. For reference, I was a bartender here when it was The Blarney Stone Pub. I really love what they did with the place. They were able to nearly double the amount of tables available and the bar is huge! All of this because they moved essential facilities (kitchen and bathrooms) to the basement.
The staff were extremely cool and made good drinks, and really went above and beyond what their normal duties should be.
The one thing I took issue with was the menu. It's only available on a QR code - printed in dark ink, on black pleather, in a dark environment. Needless to say, I couldn't get it to work. The bartenders couldn't get it to work. The menu URL was not printed on the table tent, so I couldn't go to the menu URL directly. They didn't have any printed menus available for me to look at. We got creative and I went to their website and looked through their menus there. I feel like I missed out on something on the menus because I couldn't look at the beers on tap or specialty cocktails... But the food and drinks I ordered were really good!
Definitely recommend the burger.
Great place, great vibes... Having worked in this particular space, I'm happy with what came in here.
I planned a happy hour for my work colleagues, and the team at Dutch Fred’s was so accommodating from the very beginning! I spoke with Lynn only the day before, and she was able to accommodate our large group in exactly the type of set up I was looking for. We ended up arriving two hours earlier than we had planned, and Annie was amazing! Despite not expecting us at that time, she found us space and even let us move once we realized another area was better suited for us. We had such a great time, and everyone enjoyed the variety of cocktails! We stayed for 6 hours, and nobody made us feel like we overstayed our welcome :)
Huge place. Great weekend brunch with bottomless mimosas
Amazing spot, had the chicken and waffle sandwich and bottomless Dutch punch. It was delicious and the service was great and the vibe of the location is unmatched would definitely return!
Great cocktails, fun bar. Always a go to for us when in the Hella Kitchen area
When I walked into this bar I thought I made a big mistake..had a bad vibe from the bartender & the place in general did not make me comfortable..I Am happy to report I was wrong. Bartender was on point , drinks were great & the food & service was on point. Def recommend this little slice of heaven. Come by and have a bunch. 🍺🍻🍷🍸🍹🍾P.S food was delicious.
The Dutch punch is delightful and packs a punch. I love it .. nice current music and old school tunes also. Great mature crowd and vibes . I love it here first time in this spot

Loved the atmosphere and the bottomless mimosa!
This is a great spot for a bite to eat and they have awesome cocktails. A pretty decent sized menu and friendly staff. Loved the bang bang shrimp and the pork belly bao. Seems to get pretty busy but there is a nice, small outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice. Will be back and definitely recommend this spot to anyone in the area.
Now for my standard comments. Location is clean and well kept, at least in the outdoor seating area.
Yummy craft cocktails and food and fun atmosphere. Lively on a Friday night.
If you're in NYC and want an unforgettable bar experience, you have to visit Dutch Fred's and sit at the bar with Alci. From the moment we walked in, he made us feel so welcome—attentive, friendly, and genuinely fun to chat with. On top of that, his espresso martinis are hands-down the BEST I’ve ever had!
What really stood out was that on our second visit, Alci remembered my mom and me from our prior visit. That kind of personal touch makes all the difference and keeps people coming back. The whole restaurant has a cool, inviting vibe, but Alci is what made our experience truly special. Looking forward to our next visit!
Dutch Fred pub is an upscale haven in Hell's kitchen. Our server Abby was helpful, efficient and quick. The pub is decorated in a quirky but classy style and the music was great too. They have a large bar and space for a private party too. I really liked the menu which had something for everyone including vegetarian offers. I had brie cheese quesidillas and arugula flatbread. They were both very yummy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant/ pub to couples and friends anytime! Also Shane answered the phone and helped me make a reservation! Very good customer service.
