Came to try the tamales. I ordered a champurrado and a bacon and mozzarella cheese tamale. The size of the tamales is minuscule for $5 and the bacon and mozzarella tamale was extremely dry with mostly fat and no visible cheese. I complained and asked for a refund or an exchange and was denied and told it was “supposed to be” dry and empty of fillings.
I had them toss it as it was truly inedible.

My friend’s chicken mole tamale was good and he enjoyed his soup but in my opinion the price, size, quality and abysmal customer service make this experience not worthy of a repeat or even a primary visit. I miss queens.

A tiny space with only 2 two person tables and 1 four person table and 1 counter with 2 bar stools. Cold air comes in every time the front door opens. But the vegetable torta is great. We also had the mole verde soup(special) which was excellent.

Got the hungry set, guac and horchata. First time trying tamales and I like the chicken and beef (although beef slightly chewy)! Guac was thick and great, with a bit of spice

The chipotle chicken tamale is fantastic, moist and delicious. The turkey panini is also a must try.

Solid tamales at a good price in downtown NY. Got the Salsa Verde Chicken and the Rajas con Queso. Both were good, but I think tbe salsa verde was better.

They were out of the mole soup but they had a chipotle chicken tortilla soup that was pretty good.

Two tamales for under $11 is a solid lunch if you ask me.

I specifically ordered a certain kind of coffee and they gave me the complete opposite, however the costumer service was ok.

On the first warm day of June I had been shlepping around the Lower East Side with my four-year-old granddaughter perched on my shoulders, while I managed to hold her scooter in one hand. As you can imagine, I was hot and tired. I hadn't had lunch.

I had never been to Factory Tamal but noticed the "fresh gazpacho" sign in their window as I was walking past. I went in, disentangled the scooter and the granddaughter, and ordered a bowl.

It took a few minutes because, I believe, they didn't have a big container filled with gazpacho in the kitchen, but rather whipped up each serving from scratch! It was delicious, with the right proportions of vegetables and perfectly seasoned.

It came with a little bowl of chips that kept my granddaughter happy while I refreshed my body and soul.

Turns out my son loves their "café de olla," and since I love tamales, I will be sure to return and try both. Maybe the horchata too.
