After a day of walking around New York, I was in dire need of something refreshing and stumbled across Health King. It is a small crowded shop with LOTS of options - from smoothies to juices to protein shakes, they got it all! You can see them right through the glass making the smoothie with all the real fruits. The staff was friendly but the smoothie was terrible. I had pineapple rinds at the bottom of my smoothies and it was extra runny and didn't taste very good. Honestly probably the second worst smoothie I ever had. Do not recommend.Also quite overpriced. $9 for a medium, $11 for a large, and the "large" is either 12 or 16 oz. You would think for that price, they would at least use good ingredients. And there is no atmosphere. Not even a chair.

Place has been there like 30 years. Old school NYC shop. They will make you any drink, in any combo. Majority of their ingredients are fresh produce and they make to order. Strengths are that it's clean, fast, and fresh. Helps to know what you want before you stand in the limited space- check out the menu before hand. Very busy during breakfast/lunch rush hours.
