Ordered jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk for takeout and it hit the spot! I really like the savory-ness of the jjajangmyeon, but I wish the noodles were chewier. Prices are very reasonable and service was fast too.

I got Tangsuyuk and Jjambbong, omg it was amazing. Service was wonderful. even tho i got there before they open (11:30am) which i felt really bad, they welcomed me and still let me seat down. Everyone there was so friendly and nice! I was very very impressed! Will def come back when i visit New York city again

Never order for delivery. You will get a food that you wont be able to eat. Poorly packaged. I think this is a dine-in restaurant only. Their jjamppong is still my favorite though

Casual place for Korean Chinese dishes, my goto is the half jjangpong and half jjajangmyeon (I love that they have this option here). Usually it's not busy and I get to sit right away.

This K-Chinese restaurant used to be one of my favorite in the city, but unfortunately, my recent visit confirmed that it went down the hill. The freshness and quality of the ingredients seemed seriously compromised, which unfortunately led to me having to return my dish due to an unpleasant taste and smell. I should've followed my instincts and not opted for an alternative. Unfortunately, after eating the second dish, we both experienced food poisoning. Will not be returning back to this place.

I don't think I tried to go further because I felt bad about the tip. I hope you experience the fact that the magic of losing sales while trying to get tips can happen, as you have personally experienced what you feel in past reviews.

Personally, I like Hyodonggak Jjambbong so much that I visit it often, but there is one thing that is disappointing, so I am leaving this review. Every time I visit, I hear men working in the kitchen or hall yelling at the staff and sometimes even swearing. I thought it would be uncomfortable the first couple of times, but when I last visited last week, I could hear a staff member yelling and talking harshly in the kitchen all the way down to the hall, which actually made the meal uncomfortable. At my recommendation, I invited my colleagues to a meal, but everyone was embarrassed by the swearing they heard in the kitchen, which was actually very embarrassing. I understand your frustration when employees make mistakes or mistakes, but I think it would be better to scold them somewhere else so they can't be heard in the hall.

A month-long craving for jjajangmyeon after trying some sub-par jjajangmyeon at another place a month prior. We called in an order for pick up: jjajangmyeon and jjampong, priced alright. We really wanted to get some chicken kkanpunggi but it seemed way over-priced here, so we opted to pick up some fried chicken at BB-Q just a block away. We came in to pick up our food, and the ambiance was that of any typical older Asian restaurant, and the food was ready by the time that we got there. By the time that we got home (only a few blocks away), our food had fairly cooled (especially the jjajangmyeon) due to it being in the low 40°F's. The food was... ok. Maybe I'm judging harshly because we were in Korea 6 months prior and had both dishes at least 3 times during that stay. But the flavors at Hyo Dong Gak simply just did not compare. My craving was yet again, not satisfied. The jjampong was ordered extra spicy and extra seafood, and they certainly did deliver on that front with at least 3 different types of shrimp, but it did not astound in robust flavor. I'd give it a B. Jjajangmyeon was slightly sweet and meat chunks were varying in size from meat dust to stew chunks, but lacking in that fried black bean flavor, C-. They provided kimchi with our meal, but I would have been over the moon if they provided the onion and black bean side dish.

Great lunch menu with combo set. Opted for the spicy chicken and jjamppong(spicy noodle soup) and my friend had the bean bean noodle and jjamppong combo. Very filling hot and tasty. Perfect for winter weather

I went here few a year ago with my friend because we were going to a BTS concert and the workers overheard us that we were so excited to see BTS and they were so sweet and started playing BTS songs for us which made our evening even more special . The Jajangmyeon Was so delicious and became my favorite meal there!! We came back to little over a year ago and the food is still amazing and the Jajangmyeon still tastes amazing and is still my most favorite dish ???
