Brilliant Korean spread at Cho Dang Gol in midtown Manhatten. Specializes in tofu dishes so we plumped for the spicy tofu hotpot but also ordered some tasty beef and zucchini pancakes and spicy gochujang chicken. This eatery features on the Michelin guide and is always packed, and rightly so! Maybe a little on the sweeter side for my taste but isn’t everything in the USA? 😜 Regardless, it was stupid tasty and we inhaled everything
Authentic, not pretentious, delicious food in a lively and Seoul-like experience. From the pear makgeolli to the banchan, worth the wait in queue. Go right when this place opens during the weekday, but on weekends just expect a dinner wait no matter what.
I had a wonderful dining experience here! The banchan were delicious and endless, the cold noodle dish was perfect for such a hot day, and vegetarian friendly. I enjoyed the sweet tea served at the end of the meal as well. My servers were attentive and generous. Can't wait to come back!

Despite the wait, the delicious and authentic Korean dishes, including galbi-jjim, kongbiji, and homemade tofu, are well worth it. The portions are generous, with enough food for sharing. The restaurant is also considerate of dietary restrictions and offers child-friendly dining options in a reasonably spacious setting. The staff is known for their kindness and excellent service, making every visit enjoyable. Recently, guests have praised the remarkable improvement in the menu, especially enjoying the makgeolli, which reflects the authentic flavors of Seoul. Everything tasted fresh, and many customers look forward to their next visit.
