Excited to see the good reviews re: food.Came on my day off, and I was perhaps the second table seated.I ordered and only two things came out (okra and spring rolls), then ~15 mins later they say “someone forgot to put in your order”, as I am seeing people served around me.Another 10 mins and more food for other tables coming and I say, “what’s the deal?”And they again say…it’s coming that someone forgot to put it in…so no one thought to try and have food some out for the person sitting there the longest instead of serving everyone else first?Bad service. The food I did eat was mediocre. They were polite tough.

When I came to New York, I really wanted to eat Taiwanese food, so I used Uber eats to find this Chinese restaurant and ordered it once on 4/3, 4/4, and 4/6.The food is all very delicious and of a high standard. Maybe because I am Taiwanese, I feel that many dishes tend to be oily. What impressed me most was the stir-fried bean sprouts (vegetarian), which really covered the bottom of the plate with a layer of oil. , it should be oilier than the stir-fried vegetables in Taiwanese hot stir-fry restaurants. It may have been adjusted to suit American tastes, but it is still delicious! The bean sprouts are full of tenderness.Compared with Taiwanese food, a delivery portion can feed 3-4 people without any problem, and the taste and portion are quite sufficient. What I really like is the spicy and sour potato shreds, which are spicy and sour enough. The crispiness of the potato shreds is also very good. In contrast, if I order the hot pepper potato shreds afterwards, it is much inferior. The potato shreds are not crispy enough and have no texture. Highly recommended, if you can tolerate spicy food, I recommend ordering the hot and sour flavor.I have ordered lettuce with scallion oil twice. It tastes good but the portion is small. It can only be served for 1-2 people (I can eat it all by myself). It tastes very good. The family tradition of pickled pork soup is also very delicious. It is a soup that takes time to cook. However, my family felt very thirsty after eating it. The pork belly, sliced and bamboo shoots are very filling, but the texture of the bamboo shoots is not that crispy. .The seafood fried noodles are above the standard, with enough ingredients and moderate seasoning. Since I can’t finish it, I have to refrigerate it to eat the next day. The texture of the noodles is still the same and not too bad.Kelp and winter melon pork ribs soup. The kelp is a bit too big for Taiwanese people, making it inconvenient to eat. The soup is very flavorful, and the flavor of the winter melon is cooked in. The ribs may not be very chewy because they have been stewed for too long.Based on the above, if Taiwanese come to New York and miss Chinese food, they can come here to eat. The taste is not bad and the per capita price is about US$20-30 (in terms of delivery platforms).

We loved this spot. The pickled grilled fish was surprisingly flavorful and the toppings you could customize and add to it are great. The Shanghai soup dumplings were so good! We had the pork/crab soup dumplings, definitely some of the best soup dumplings I’ve had in NY. I’m also so happy that they have water spinach as a veggie dish! It’s not too greasy either. I definitely want to be back and try their Peking duck and many other dishes the next time I’m in the area!

I ordered an Uber Eats from this place and the food is very tasty. Bacon fried rice, sweet sour tenderloin and baby cabbage in chicken broth. The cabbage is a winner, as the chicken broth really enhances the tender simmered chinese cabbage. Definitely a winner!

This Chinese restaurant is situated in Chinatown and is quite popular in the area. We tried the Chongqing Spicy Fish and Golden Beef Soup. Even though we only ordered two dishes, it was more than enough for three people. The Chongqing Spicy Fish was exceptional – one of the best I've had in the States. It's not just incredibly spicy but also very flavorful. Highly recommend it for fellow spicy food enthusiasts. The Golden Beef Soup was a unique experience for me, and it had a fantastic taste. If you love Chinese-style spiciness, I would highly recommend it to you.

Flushing was my first time trying it. This is better. I love their food. They have a wide selection to suit everyone's taste. It's fun to go with friends. I've been to birthday parties before.

This restaurant I visited recently could use some improvements in terms of pricing and service. Additionally, I noticed that the order of soup dumplings comes in four pieces which may not be acceptable for those who are familiar with Chinese traditions. Perhaps some adjustments could be made to cater to a wider audience.

My friend and I picked Jiang Nan to have lunch at on a Friday. When we walked in, I was glad we'd come because it looked like the perfect place to have a leisurely lunch and catch up with a friend. We walked in at 12 pm and were seated immediately. There was one table of diners inside already at this time and more came after. The ambiance here is dark and elegant. The prices are average for NYC but it feels like a good spot to have a nice meal where you can sit for awhile, drink tea and linger. The menu at Jiang Nan focuses on Shanghainese cuisine, with a mixture of vegetables, seafood, meat, dumplings, noodle and rice dishes. My friend and I ordered just three dishes which was enough to fill us, but we ordered two fried dishes and in hindsight, I wish we hadn't done this because I was left with a very heavy feeling. Our dishes included the crab and pork dumplings, spicy bull frog and the fried prawns with salted egg yolk. The fried prawns and the crab and pork dumplings were the standouts. The spicy bull frog was not bad but not amazing. The service was professional and efficient, we had everything we needed as soon as we needed it. I'd recommend Jiang Nan if you're looking for a Shanghainese restaurant with a slightly nicer environment in Chinatown.

I had high hopes for this restaurant when I went there with my boyfriend for our first meal of 2024. We have Jiang Nan in Philadelphia too, but I’ve been reluctant to try it because of the mixed reviews. However, some reviewers claimed that the Jiang Nan in NYC is better than the one in Philadelphia, so I was thrilled to try it today. After tasting three dishes today, I can only say that this restaurant is nothing but a huge letdown. The three things that we ordered today were half Peking duck, pork and crab soup dumplings, and lamb skewer.Let’s start with the Peking duck. I think this is the worst Peking duck I’ve ever had in my life. The duck was so undercooked/under roasted that there was a thick layer of skin fat. A well-cooked/roasted Peking duck should have a thin layer of golden crispy skin. There should be no unroasted skin fat. Also, the duck was bland and flavorless. The next dish was the pork and crab soup dumplings. This was the first thing the waiter brought to our table. I remember that my smile faded from my face as soon as I opened the lid of the bao steamer. The four dumplings in the steamer were tiny and looked machine-made, because there was no small hole on the tip of the dumpling. Handmade soup dumplings should have a small opening on the tip of the dumpling. Also, the dumpling skin was thick and yellowish. It looked nothing like the ones in some reviewers’ photos. I also didn’t see any crab in them. I suspect that they bought these from a local supermarket as an emergency replacement. The last dish was the lamb skewer. The lamb meat was tender, but it tasted old and lacked seasoning. I felt like they might have soaked the meat in baking soda, which gave it a weird aftertaste. It wasn’t the lamb gaminess, just a weird aftertaste that I can’t describe.I had never had such awful Chinese food in NYC before and this is the first time. I would never go back to this place.
