About Jing Fong

Jing Fong is a popular restaurant known for its delicious dim sum and good service. The food is generous in portion size, with standout dishes like the shrimp dim sum and shrimp crab and spinach shu mai. The restaurant's fried dumplings are made with a big meatball wrapped in dough, and the dim sum menu is extensive, offering a decent variety. While the atmosphere is lively with slightly loud dance music, the chairs can be uncomfortable. The dim sum is consistently good, and the noodles are also solid, but other menu items can be hit or miss. Vegetarians may be disappointed by the limited options, but the dim sum is worth a visit for non-vegetarians. Prices are reasonable for the neighborhood, which makes Jing Fong a good choice for dim sum on the Upper West Side. The restaurant also offers outdoor dining, making it a nice spot for those in the area from the 70s to Inwood. Overall, Jing Fong is an excellent option for those seeking decent Cantonese dishes without leaving the neighborhood.

Wonderfully hospitable. Absolutely delighted they still used traditional by-gone push carts to your table and wear headkerchifs. So cute! Felt like I got the authentic experience (like I had in San Francisco circa 1997.) My favorite was the bacon wrapped shrimpball!
Ps: I went to the LES location.

Pretty decent dim sum for the UWS. Spacious and very very kid friendly. There were plenty of families with their strollers and lots of high chairs. There’s an area in the back to park strollers or if you have a sleeping baby, you can park your stroller next to some of the tables. The wait staff are very accommodating. Our son didn’t like sitting in the high chair and the wait staff offered a bar stool for him which was the perfect height since the normal chairs were too short...read full review
