I brought my partner here for their birthday after hearing rave reviews, and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the host was attentive. We started with the craft cocktail flight—a fantastic way to sample their mixology skills. The miso-glazed salmon was flaky and perfect, and the steak frites were cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Our server, Mia, was knowledgeable and made great wine pairings. The ambiance was vibrant but we could still have a conversation....
Love, love, love this classic dive bar. Small, narrow, jukebox (AMI), great bartenders, good prices, diverse patrons - great, colorful group of regulars plus people waiting for tables at nearby restaurants, plus out of towners/tourists from anywhere around the world, plus local residents, plus service industry staff getting off work - you might meet anyone from anywhere!
Normally wouldn't post a review of a bar, but am a little upset at how rude the bartender was. She knows who I am. The "phone girl". She charged my phone (thank you) but when I was on the way out I heard her making fun of me to the locals. Not cool. Literally just sat there reading a book and had two beers, solo travelling, unnecessary to make me feel so awkward and unwelcome. John, a local at the counter, was a lovely guy. Would've stayed chatting with him...
