Recent visitors appreciated the improved menu, including dishes like Moules frites, and enjoyed the branzino special and fish stew. The crepe fruit de mer was very good, as was the endive salad and soupe d'onion. The mussels were the best in a really long time, extremely fresh, plump, and the sauce was delicious. While wine prices are high, the quality and consistency justify the cost. Service was a bit questionable, with a feeling that the staff was inadequate for the number of people being served, and some things had to be asked for twice. The cocktails were delicious. Overall, La Boite en Bois remains a lovely, romantic spot that many customers return to time and again.
