A NYC staple for decades, it feels like a special place while you’re there. It’s filled with uptown local crowd - mixed new and old guard New Yorkers. The calamari appetizer was exceptional. The mussels broth was tasteless, sadly. On the balance the food was 3/5 but the atmosphere will keep me coming back, which is probably the case for most. The unbearable heat on made for a sleepy feeling, would’ve enjoyed 10 degrees cooler. Cherry on top was to have our umbrella’s nicked on monsoon type day.

A fabulous restaurant with great energy. Patrons dressed very well and it has that feeling that it’s going to explode into a full blown party. Food is lovely. Had the Easter prefix so didn’t get to experience the menu properly but will definitely revisit. Maitre d’ was a bit of a let down, seated us at a poor table when there were better tables available and didn’t give us a great welcome. Waitress was superb and recovered the service situation.

It was our first time at Le Bilboquet for a birthday celebration, and we were beyond delighted with our dining experience! As a downtown New Yorker, some UES establishments can feel a bit stuffy, but this was not at all the case at Le Bilboquet. Our server, Ion, and his supporting team were warm, attentive and made our evening extra special and memorable. In addition to the great service, the food was spectacular! Must orders: endive & roquefort salad, sunchoke salad, scallops, cauliflower three ways and their cheese plate is exquisite. Merci beaucoup et à bientôt!

The only good thing about this overpriced restaurant is the signature Cajun chicken dish. Otherwise, the staff is rude and the experience sucks. And good luck trying to experience the ambiance that you made a reservation for 6 weeks in advance and didn't get. Not worth the hype. Save your money. Or spend it at Maison Close instead.

Update - This review was actually for Cafe Bilboquet. Stopped in for some nourishment after an appointment and it definitely satisfied. Ordered two ham and Swiss sandwiches on croissants, which the sweet lady who took our order very kindly heated up. Also had a large mocha latte, which was just so so. Wasn't as decadent as I would have liked. Was a bit cramped and loud inside, but we snagged a corner table near the door away from the crowd, which was nice. Service was sweet and sandwiches were nice and tasty. Definitely hit the spot after a long morning.

@lebilboquetny started it all in 1986 as an intimate boîte and now is thriving on the UES with their gorgeous restaurant. Le Bilboquet is perfect for a celebration dinner! The 4th picture says it all. The service is immaculate! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is magnifique! A bientôt! Came here for a birthday brunch, my friend wanted to get tipsy and dance. This review is for the overall experience and not precisely the food. Pro tip: brunch starts at 2PM, before and after 2PM are different worlds. Nomz: Had the famous Cajun chicken, the fries were delicious as was the salad that came with it. The Cajun sauce was very good and helped the chicken as it was a bit dry, white meat. Drinks: Had the top one on the cocktail menu, it was refreshing and nice. Service: It was great and over the top in the best way. They danced, they brought drinks, they refilled drinks, they took your pics/videos, they made the lights flicker with the music, they did it all. Ambiance: Before 2pm I would describe as fancy vibe with white table clothes, even a bit stuffy maybe. After 2pm, the lights are dimmed, the dj starts spinning awesome tunes and sparklers start coming out with bday bottles. Everyone dances, everyone has fun but didn't see anyone get sloppy. Nope or Dope: Dope, if you're looking for good drinks and a good time in a upscale/classy environment come here!

Another pretending-to-be-French place in NYC. Quality is not there. Employees barely speak English. Will not come back.
