Another very solid offering from Daniel Boulud. I came to El Gratin for Restaurant Week and had a great time. The space is beautiful and the service was top notch throughout. We tried the French Restaurant Weeks menu. I had the escargot (the smell of garlic butter when it hit the table was divine), the sea bream (which was so good it has ruined all other fish dishes for me), and the gateaux chocolate (the quality of chocolate and butter is immediately apparent). An excellent meal with attentive service.
Le Gratin is an absolute gem. The ambiance is cozy and elegant, and the food is classic French perfection. The gratin dauphinois is heavenly—rich, creamy, and crisp on top. I also loved the duck.
