About Bar Room at the Beekman

The Bar Room at the Beekman offers a blend of historic and modern luxury in a socially elegant atmosphere. The restaurant is a great hideaway with quality ambiance and service, making it ideal for dates or gatherings. Guests praise the relaxing environment. The cocktail menu is not extensive, but drinks are good. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends, as the restaurant tends to fill up.

The Bar Room at the Beekman Hotel is one of the most beautiful spaces, with a peek into the elegance of 19th century New York. Steps from Wall Street in the Financial District, the narrow cobblestone streets provide a more calm and neighborhood feel. The Beekman was completed in 1883, and its 9 stories were considered a skyscraper at the time. The space has a rich history, with icons like Ralph Waldo Emerson, Mark Twain, and Henry David Thoreau once frequenting the area. The space comes alive with an elaborate 30-foot Christmas tree, complete with a peacock at the top. The bartenders are highly skilled and friendly, offering a solid cocktail program.

Celebrated my bday with my family.
Everyone was amazing.
If you are working in FiDi or staying at the Beekman, this is a must-visit. The service was attentive without being intrusive. We ordered the oysters and the Beekman Burger to share, and both were excellent quality. The noise level was perfect—busy enough to feel energetic but quiet enough to have a business conversation. Parking is tough in this area, but the subway is right nearby. Worth every penny for the vibe alone.
Absolutely stunning historic space. The Victorian cage bar is iconic, and the Old Fashioned was crafted perfectly. Great spot for a special dinner in FiDi. Service was top-notch and professional.
Taking off one star because it is pricey. Expect to spend $50-100 per person easily for food and drinks. Also, the noise level can pick up when the room is full due to the high ceilings. Parking nearby is a nightmare, so take the subway.
