Truly delightful, perfectly French experience! Bravo for the 10 page champagne list, and for the sommelier, Stephen, being a human filter feature to find us the trifecta of champagnes to pair with the sublime faire. Service was quick and impeccable. The restaurant itself is tastefully understated. The view from the bar is like no other in NYC!

Very unique atmosphere, one of the most impressive interiors I've ever seen in a restaurant!

Really impeccable setting for a business lunch. Reminds me of the old Four Seasons restaurant. The food is superb and service is excellent. The little dessert loaf is a nice touch

We visited the bar on a weekday at 5:30 pm. This is not a good time to visit as the bar was packed, no seats available and loud. It's an after work crowd. By 6:30 pm, seats became available. The bartenders are excellent and some of their cocktails, while overpriced at $23.00, are a treat. Beers are $12. We tried 2 of the bar bites. The tuna fir $23 consisted of four tiny tidbits but were good. The so-called lobster roll for $25 was not worth more than $4.00. It should be taken off the menu as it is not special, it lacks flavor and the portion is insulting to customers. Go next door to the Oyster Bar in Grand Central or to Docks on 41st if you want a real lobster roll. The room is beautiful with a nice view from the bar of the Chrysler Building. We did not have dinner as it is only pre-fixed and priced for the one percent.

Truly outstanding dinner service. Every employee is extremely professional and kind. Our server, Latina D. was phenomenal! The food is so incredibly delicious as well. For first course We got the oysters encrusted in seaweed, grilled octopus. For main course we got lobster and strip loin (best strip loin i ever had, it melted in my mouth). For dessert we got the granny smith apple, and the earl grey cheesecake. I would recommend to dine here to anybody.

Gorgeous views and ambiance. The bar lounge was quite loud but the other parts of the interior were lovely with lots of greenery.
Ordered some of the bar food, e.g., batatas bravas, chickpea option, cheese plate. All quite mediocre.

The food was good, but not what I expected—especially for the Valentine’s fixed menu price. My main dish was duck, but I didn’t enjoy it at all. To be fair, I’m not a big fan of duck in general, but this dish didn’t change my mind.

Came here for my birthday. It was an amazing experience. I expected nothing less from one of Daniel Boulud's restaurants, especially being in 1 Vanderbilt. We did the lunch service 6 course (FYI it ends at 1:30 PM, but they were able to squeeze us in because it was my birthday which I thought was really nice). Every dish tasted amazing, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was soothing. The high ceilings with glass windows letting the natural light in was beautiful! Loved my lunch here!

Have followed chef Boulud for years. Decided to have my birthday dinner at Le Pavillon. Everything was excellent. Our server made great suggestions. Wines worked well with our food choices. Meal was well timed and we did not feel rushed. We will continue to patronize Chef’s restaurants when we are in NYC.

I came here for a business lunch and would tell all my colleagues never to bring any clients here again. We told the waitress that we only had about an hour to eat, and her tone was incredibly rude and condescending. She was almost yelling when taking our orders, and she interrupted our conversations a few times to tell us we wouldn’t be able to finish in time. The only time when she ever smiled was when she brought over the check at the end. We had never encountered anything like this, especially at an upscale restaurant that serves business meals. Absolutely ridiculous.

While the menu boasts a variety of beautifully crafted dishes, some selections stood out more than others. The truffle scallop pasta hit the mark for me--the truffle was not overpowering paired with the delicate scallops, and the flavors felt perfectly balanced. Similarly, the striploin, perfectly cooked, left a lasting impression. The final piece of the experience more than exceeded my expectations.

The highlight of the evening was, without a doubt, the coconut flan. This dessert was nothing short of perfection--silky, smooth, and bursting with rich coconut flavor without being overly sweet. Every bite was a delight, making it the perfect way to end the meal.

Le Pavillon's stunning atmosphere, exceptional service, and thoughtfully curated menu make it a must-visit for any food lover in NYC.

Went here with my friend during winter restaurant week.
The entrance is hidden, took me a few to find it, it’s on the side of One Vanderbilt.
The decor and the view is phenomenal, very nice vibe. The service staffs are very well trained, very friendly.
Food was amazing, worth the price (hard to find that in Manhattan).
Definitely recommended!

“On the night of 2/21/25, I wrote a total of $550, but I noticed I was charged an extra $4.09. Is this a credit card processing fee? If so, why wasn’t I informed beforehand? If not, then what is this extra charge for? I hope the restaurant can provide a reasonable explanation and ensure transparency at checkout, as this seriously affects the customer experience.”

In early January, we visited this one-Michelin-starred restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. When making the reservation, I noted that it was a birthday celebration and requested a table in the garden/near the garden. However, it seemed the staff didn’t read the notes—there was no birthday acknowledgment from the receptionist or hostess, and we were initially seated at a less desirable table with no congratulatory postcard, which was unexpected for a Michelin-starred establishment. Fortunately, the manager greeted us and we mentioned our celebration and seating preference. He was very accommodating and quickly found us the perfect table near the garden, resolving the issue smoothly. Despite this, the lack of attention to our reservation notes and the absence of any personalized touch made the experience feel less special.

We opted for the three-course prix fixe menu, which offered about 6 options from seafood and land. For each course, we selected one dish from the sea and one from the land. Before the first course, we were served a delicious bread basket and an amuse-bouche—small but bursting with flavor.
I started with Quail (CAILLE | KABOCHA), and my boyfriend had Octopus (POULPE | POMME DE TERRE) with crushed Yukon potatoes. The quail was perfectly roasted and paired with the sweet, nutty kabocha squash, creating a velvety texture. The octopus was perfectly grilled, and the flavors were outstanding.
For the main course, we shared the New England Sea Scallops (SAINT JACQUES | POIVRE), which were baked in the shell. The presentation was fun, and each bite was fantastic. We also had the Roasted Striploin (BOEUF | STRUDEL) with wild rice and mushroom “strudel.” The kitchen kindly split it into two plates for us, making it easy to share.
Since I'm not a huge chocolate fan, for dessert I chose the KAKI | ÉRABLE – crème brûlée with persimmon compote, bourbon ice cream, and maple fudge. My bf went for the NOISETTE | JIVARA – milk chocolate crémeux with praline croustillant, and hazelnut nougatine. As a final treat, we received complimentary miniature profiteroles in two flavors. All the desserts were terrific.
Service was attentive and well-paced, with staff clearing dishes efficiently. The elegant yet inviting ambiance made the meal feel special. Despite being a Michelin-starred restaurant, the portions were generous, and we were completely full after three courses! Although the lack of personalization for special occasions was disappointing, the quality, flavors, and execution of every dish left a lasting impression.
