MáLà Project Midtown East Reviews
Hands down probably the best Chinese food in the city. I could eat here everyday.
Loved every minute of it. Awesome food. Service was excellent.
We had a WONDERFUL time at Mala Project this week. Our server, Kyle, was extremely helpful in recommending ‘must haves’ for our appetizers, dry pot and, of course, drinks. We planned for only a quick bite to eat, but the atmosphere was so welcoming, we ordered more drinks and hung out for a while. Highly recommend this restaurant!

The MáLà Project Midtown East is a stylish Sichuan eatery known for pan‑fried pork dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, fried rice and a customizable dry pot that diners can fill with ingredients they like. The menu also offers a stir fry bowl, wood ear, lotus root, lotus and other real authentic ingredients, plus litchi martinis that guests call the best. The dry pot bowls are fantastic and can be extra crunchy with lotus root, while the house‑made chili oil adds an addictive warm and tingly spice. The ambiance is retro and fun, with a casual atmosphere that feels both lively and friendly. Staff are attentive, present and efficient, providing excellent recommendations and reasonable prices, especially for lunch specials and happy hour. The flavor is crazy delicious, with unique mala spice blend that is both real and extra spicy for people who love a little heat, yet there are options for those who can’t handle a lot of spice. Overall the service is great, the atmosphere is fun and the food is consistently flavorful and spicy enough to satisfy any Szechuan fan.
