Metropolis by Marcus Samuelsson offers a superb dining experience with remarkable food and a wonderful ambiance. Memorable dishes include smoked hamachi soft tacos, rib eye, artichoke char with uni butter, and desserts like chocolate soufflé and donuts. The rib eye is fork tender, and the artichoke char melts in the mouth. Metropolis is a beacon in historic lower Manhattan, with a sophisticated, urbane and chic aesthetic. The staff is knowledgeable and leaves nothing to chance. The cocktails are quite spirited and will not disappoint. The sesame Manhattan is tip-top! Every single dish was well thought out and creatively artistic. The Zatar duck, labneh & tabbouleh was a favorite with the balance of bold flavors. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting, and all the staff was friendly and attentive. The marinated summer squash was out of this world. For dessert, AMERICAN DREAM is the way to go. The restaurant is highly recommended for pre-theater dining at the Perelman Art Center.
