Everything here is so delicious, I've been back 3 times so far. There was a spicy margarita on the menu in the summer that is sooo yummy I hope they bring it back! Listen don't walk run! I love everything about this space, from the food to the ambiance. A gem ?

The food, service, and ambiance were par excellence!
Parking: It you go during the week, it's best to take the subway to the World Trade Center; however, you can drive, but it'll cost you.

Metropolis by Marcus Samuelsson - Great Atmosphere, but Room for Improvement on the Burger
My visit to Metropolis by Marcus Samuelsson left me with mixed feelings. The ambiance, decor, and service were all impressive, with attentive waitstaff and a well-organized setup that made the dining experience enjoyable. However, as someone who rarely leaves food on the plate, I was surprised to find myself leaving half of my burger behind.
To be fair, the sauce and technique were well thought out, and the combination of flavors showed promise. Unfortunately, the execution fell short when it came to the basics—the burger bun and meat. The balance between the bun and patty was off, and the meat didn’t seem as fresh as expected. The bun also had a slightly stale quality, as if it had been stored a bit too long.
On a positive note, the fries were exceptional, crispy and full of flavor. If the burger itself could reach the same level, I’d be excited to return and fully enjoy both the food and the beautiful setting. Here’s hoping the chef fine-tunes this dish—I’d love to come back and experience Metropolis at its best.

We were a family of 5. I was truly hoping for a more elevated dining experience - especially given the name and price point. Biggest gripe was our dinners came midway though our appetizers leading us all to rush through our food. After dinner one guest did not finish her meal and wanted to take it home- instead of taking the plate and returning it in a box/bag- she was just handed a box to do it herself (again.. restaurant name/price point). Lastly dessert took from ordering to table over 20 minutes.. two dishes of sorbet.
Good points.. the Caesar salad- although different, was good as was the fried chicken dinner. The burger and the lobster linguine looked good as well and were eaten. I hope you can work out your timing issues. The restaurant was not even at half capacity.

Soooo good. Service was amazing and our waitress was a vibe. The food was delicious, probably the best food I got in nyc during my short visit here.

The restaurant is a sight to be seen. The food was just ok. We had the chicken which was underwhelming. The carpaccio was ok. The wine was fantastic. I'd go back to enjoy the bar anytime.

I started with the cornbread as an appetizer. It was completely different than how I imagined it would be. I was expecting a buttery cashew sauce to pour over it. The flavor was different but not bad. It had a hint of spice (paprika?) and an aromatic herb taste.
My main course was steak frites. The steak and sauce had a pleasant flavor, and the fries were crispy.
My server was outstanding and attentive.
Note: The chicken used in their dishes is dark meat. Just a warning for those who prefer white meat.

The ambience, staff, and service was amazing. We spent close to $400 for the meal, and expected a high-end experience. The staff did not disappoint, however, the food had slight missteps with just about every dish which seemed to aspire for greatness on the menu, but did not reach it. The Smashburger looked great on the menu, but the meat was slightly unrecognizable as beef and did not have much flavor, which was disappointing, considering that it was a two patty stacking. We also had fish which was delicious but subtle and did not inspire another bite. The star of the meal was the fries, which were highly satisfying bar food. Overall the meal was good but not great, and the menu itself could have used a few showstopper dishes. Rooting for this restaurant in hopes it can elevate and have great success, which is why I am writing this review.

I barely write reviews.. but this restaurant has been an AMAZING discovery! The food was delicious, very generous portions... everything was soooo good. The design is very nice, it was not loud at all. Nothing to say. This restaurant is definitely in my Top 3 of the best casual restaurants in NYC.
This space is beautiful. The food was good and the service from the door to the check was excellent. I'll be back. Only tip, put a warning at the revolving doors for women in heels. Mine got badly damaged on the grates under the doors and there's no way to avoid them. Had to tiptoe over them to leave lol but I just know to wear flats next time.
While I always love Marcus's food, this restaurant feels like a cafeteria more than a restaurant. There is no style and or theme tying the space together. It is cavernous and bland. And while I realize it is inside the performing arts center, I still find it very odd to go through a security screening just to get to the restaurant. The staff was attentive to a fault and either very new or not trained well for the dining experience. They hovered around diners and constantly tried to clear our table well before we were ready,. Everything felt rushed despite the restaurant being half empty while we were there. We finally tired of being asked if we were done with our appetizers and let them take everything away before we were finished eating. At one point a staff member took away my half-finished cocktail. The food was, overall, fine. But the restaurant itself really feels like the rest of this part of Manhattan: bland and uninteresting. If you're going to visit a Samuelsson restaurant in NYC, go to Red Rooster.
The service and experience upon entry was amazing. The food was delicious, ambience was elegant and the staff was very helpful. My only complaint would be for the website to give some information on how to get to the restaurant. The restaurant is on Fulton Street where it's blocked to vehicles as it's next to the World Trade Center, guest should know in advance the easiest way to arrive i.e. nearest streets and parking garages etc.
