Mi piace MiGarba.
Sure, at first glance, it looks like you're typical tiny, cramped, squeezed-like-sardines Italian restaurant in a neighborhood over-saturated with tiny, cramped, squeezed-like-sardines Italian restaurants. But look closer and....it's still just that.
What they lack in space, they make up with charm. But, like, charm like a Metallica concert. It loud inside.
We shared the hearty Agnolotti di Lucia, Lobster Ravioli and Gemelli al Ragu. Of the three, I'd give the Lobster Ravioli a pass--it was more expensive than the other two, yet arrived lukewarm and tasted...flat. The other two though--eccellente. Throw in some Sautéed Brussel Sprouts because you haven't had veggies in a while, and the tasty Superga cocktail (chamomile-infused rye, fuji apple, cinnamon, pineapple juice, and lime juice, and you have the perfect dinner for a frigid school night.
Sure, I was practically sitting on my neighbor's lap throughout dinner, but the staff made up for it with tall glasses of complimentary limoncello (which they claimed was for the initial wait). Saluti!

I had to swap my OpenTable last minute and they were so kind to help me shift it / I appreciate the customer centricity. Definitely get the eggplant app. Cute ambiance for weekday upscale but not too fancy!

Food was disappointing, everything from flavors to presentation. We got the steak tartare, lobster ravioli, and agnolotti. The tartare and ravioli in particular were average. Pasta didn’t taste fresh nor did the flavors stand out. The squid ink flavor was completely lost, soaked in a heavy cream sauce and crammed on a small appetizer plate. I agree with a previous reviewer that the atmosphere was off. The setting may be intimate, but that is thrown off by the Michael Jackson and Men in Black cover blaring on the speakers. They don’t pour the water, but slam it on the table for you. Also, yes, the waitress hovered over my friend while he paid and selected the tip. Will never return.

The food was phenomenal. I can’t believe I’d never been here before. Every dish was seriously incredible and our whole party felt the same. The staff was incredibly accommodating as well, Oscar and Mary. So so good

I had a very disappointing experience at Mi Garba on Christmas Eve. We asked for a chair, and instead of helping, the staff told us to leave our coat on the stairs — where people were constantly stepping on it. The service was extremely rude, and when we were visibly upset, the staff started speaking in Spanish and insulting us.
The food was also overly salty and not enjoyable at all. This was honestly one of the most unpleasant restaurant experiences I’ve had. I would not recommend this place.

Cocktails are good. Food is meh. Very small portions and tiny tables. Lobster ravioli is actually shrimp. Meatballs are microwaved and dry. Prices are high and they stand over you with touchscreen for tip.

Absolutely terrible. Walked in and was told immediately that I had 1 hr because they had an event. Well why let me book a reservation?
Didn’t even bother to pour the water. Slammed it down on the table.
The food I deserve a refund for. The meatballs looked like 1/2 inch freezer meatballs. 5 for $25 for a total of what would be 1 meatball at a normal restaurant. And didn’t taste like anything
Then the pasta’s were so bland and no substance. Water with pasta
And at the end of our 40 min meal, we were rushed out. Even before the event was near.

Favorite restaurant in the city. Pier consistently serves the best drinks I’ve had and the food is incredible. The personal touch with Pier and the staff in an intimate setting is unmatched. They’re friends as much as they are waiters and bartenders. If you miss Migarba you’re missing the real NYC

Fantastic cozy spot in the west village! Food is amazing and the staff is incredibly friendly and hospitable. The spritzes and ragu are delicious. We love coming here once per week, if not more!

Pier, Oscar, and Mary are amazing! They are the kindest staff and serve up the most delicious food. I love the Hugo spritz and the cacio e Pepe.

Everything was great! They were also very kind and accommodating for a member of our party who is visually impaired and came with a guide dog. The food was *chefs kiss* a perfect spot we will definitely return!

We were looking forward to enjoying authentic Italian cuisine, but the atmosphere felt unusual from the start. Surprisingly, there did not appear to be any Italian staff working at the restaurant. The food overall was average, with the bread being the highlight. My husband ordered a mixed ragù, but it resembled and tasted more like a standard spaghetti Bolognese. My own dish was acceptable, though not remarkable.
As Europeans, we are familiar with traditional Italian flavors, and the meal did not meet our expectations. For dessert, we ordered tiramisu. Shortly after dining, I felt bloated and unwell, which made me question the freshness of some items. More concerning, my husband—who rarely gets sick—felt very unwell afterward, and it may be a difficult night for him.
Service was mixed. The woman who served us was friendly, but the man’s demeanor was unusual. When I asked if he was the owner, he seemed offended and responded abruptly, which was disappointing. My question was simply out of curiosity, as I wanted to understand whether the restaurant was Italian-owned.

Sat at the bar for happy hour! Pleasantly surprised with the HH deal on a Saturday night in west village. The arancini, truffle fries and bruschetta were delicious.

Really good food, ok service, nice atmosphere (not too loud when it’s not full), tables are a bit small.
