Everything from the entire esthetic, vibe and cohesive beauty when you walk through the door right down to being able to buy fresh flowers to go home with. (Which we would have if we didn't have an event to attend after). The food was beautiful, but more important fresh and delish. But the real star was the staff. Professional, helpful, wonderful upbeat demeanor. And of course they new how to serve the food. Timing, so important. Not rushed. Apps together, mains together not overlapped. And I must say the coffee which is simple yet so many places its terrible. We drink it black and it was hot, strong, smooth and perfect! Definitely coming back with friends.

I rarely leave reviews but this experience was so disappointing that I feel compelled to share in hopes it inspires change.

The ambience at Mono + Mono is beautiful and the food is quite good. Unfortunately the service completely ruined the experience.

Twenty minutes before my reservation I called to ask if we could sit at one of the scenic high top tables. I was told they could not be reserved but if I arrived early I could sit there before my reservation (it was an initial note in my reservation that I wanted those tables). When I arrived the same staff member told me those tables have a strict one 1h45m limit and that a timer would start as soon as we sat down. He was not warm and a bit confrontational in his responses, he certainly could’ve been more kind and welcoming. The information he provided also contradicted my reservation confirmation which clearly stated a 2 hour table time.

From the moment we sat we were rushed. Within 5 minutes, 3 different staff members came by asking if we were ready to order. Throughout the meal people approached every few minutes to clear plates or push us along. We kindly let our server know it was disrupting our evening and he apologized but the interruptions continued, he said that they huddled and it wouldn’t happen again. Yet it continued the rest of our evening. Multiple staff asked about dessert within minutes of each other and we even overheard the manager asking if we were done and if there is a dessert menu on our table within earshot.

Finally after about two hours with empty tables still available we were told we needed to give up the table for another reservation despite being told earlier the high tops could not be reserved.

The constant pressure and contradictory information made the entire evening feel rushed tense and not at all intimate. It is a shame because the restaurant itself is beautiful and the food has promise. The management really needs to fix this culture of rushing diners and focus on creating a welcoming and respectful experience. Being constantly badgered around 12-15 times during a 2 hour meal is quite intense and uncalled for.

A gorgeous place to grab a few drinks, but I will not return here for the food. We got four dishes: beef tartare, cabbage pancake, truffle japchae, and bibimbap, as well as quite a few cocktails.

The beef tartare was alright, just a bit bland and forgettable. The beef quality was good, but not very strong in its seasoning served with a salad that was both too plentiful and too acidic. I wish the pear chunks were sweeter and the beef more heavily dressed. More bread with the tartare would have been ideal, too.

The cabbage pancake was good. Nothing extraordinary, but freshly fried and crispy. Can't go wrong with this as a snack, just eat it quickly because the batter can get gummy fast. Only complaint was the batter was a bit too heavy on some of the pieces, but otherwise quite good.

The japchae was the best thing we had all night, this was genuinely excellent. It was surprisingly smoky, though it erred on being slightly too oily, at least compared to many other japchae I've had. I wish they served some scissors with it. Nontheless, it was perfectly seasoned and really surprising overall, very impressive.

The bibimbap left us confused. It wasn't great, just the most average bibimbap. Rice was a bit overcooked too, cooked with too much water, erring on the mushy side. Beef was just soft and sweet. It wasn't anything new and each of the components were only alright, there are far better bibimbaps to enjoy in the city.

The drinks were great, so great that we drank so much enough that I couldn't tell you which was which. They were all good so I'm sure you can't go wrong.

Such a beautiful curated themed restaurant— just the scenery is worth going. The servers had great hospitality and they were attentive but also gave us our space! The wings and burger combo was so good; highly recommend their food!! I’d recommend to go during the weekdays as it’s more likely to not be crowded if you don’t have reservations compared to the weekends.

This is honestly one of the best restaurant atmospheres I have been to in a while. The service was phenomenal and the portion sizes are large! The food is a bit oily in my opinion so get a salad to help balance things out! If you’re looking for a trending yet comforting place to go definitely come here!

We were really disappointed with the service here of server Ana R, especially given the price point of the restaurant. For what we paid, we expected a much better dining experience. The place wasn’t busy at all, but she barely checked in on us unless we flagged her down. She didnt come by to ask how our food was, or even clear away finished dishes, other staffs came to take away some dishes at the very end . Basic service like that should be a given, especially in a restaurant that charges this much. Sadly, nothing about the service justified leaving a 20% tip. We didn’t feel taken care of at all, and it definitely left a bad impression.

Great vibes, but a few things missed the mark.

Mono Mono has a really nice atmosphere — dim lighting, cozy interior, and a great place to catch up with friends. But a few things kept it from being perfect.

First, it was uncomfortably warm inside — the A/C wasn’t doing its job, which made it a bit stuffy during dinner.

I ordered the daegu-jeon (cod pancake) and omija-ju (omija liquor). Unfortunately, the daegu-jeon came out cold and oddly slimy, not quite what I expected from a freshly pan-fried dish. As for the omija-ju, it tasted more like soju mixed with omija syrup rather than a properly infused traditional liquor.

Still, the service was friendly and the ambiance made up for the food hiccups. I’d come back, but I’d definitely order something else next time.

📌 Summary
✔️ Ambience: trendy and relaxing
✖️ AC: too warm inside
✖️ Daegu-jeon: cold and slippery
✖️ Omija-ju: tasted like a shortcut mix
✔️ Staff: attentive and kind
