I grew up right around the corner of this place and it's been delicious since I can remember!!! Unfortunately it's closed for improvements as of now!!!! When it reopens I would recommend the disco fries with American cheese and the potato perogies with the fried onions.

THIS PLACE WAS SUPER DISAPPOINTING.THE OWNER/MANAGER WAS VERY ABUSIVE AND RUDE TO ME. HE'S LUCKY I DIDN'T CALL THE POLICE. HE'S ALSO VERY LUCKY I DIDN'T HAVE MY HUSBAND WITH ME WHEN HE CALLED ME ABUSIVE NAMES. I PAID $50 FOR THOSE 2 DISHES AND I DIDN'T DESERVE TO BE TREATED LIKE A VAGRANT ASKING FOR MONEY. I REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME I VISITED IN THE 80'S; THE FOOD AND SERVICE WAS DELIGHTFUL. NOW, THE FOOD WAS AVERAGE AT BEST AND THE PRESENTATION WAS NOT GOOD AT ALL.

It was so tasty. Looking forward to coming back with my friends. Prices are decent for the quality.

Service is always super even when they have a full house. Definitely worth going back to. Prices that won't break you. Reminds me of a cafe in Chicago I loved to visit.

The menu and service were ahead of our expectations. I absolutely enjoyed the ambience of this spot. Superb place to take the family out for dinner.

used to order breakfast from this place for years, specifically for their challah bread (lunch/dinner not edible - like bones in the chicken Caesar wrap for example - but the breakfast food is fine and cheap). i am now giving them 1 star instead of 3-4 because of how rude they were on the phone after knowingly messing up today's order. when i politely called to say they sent the wrong bread, i was told they are "aware" and "don't care" because they're "busy". he disagrees that the customer should get a heads up phone call when selecting an unavailable item. goodbye forever, odessa. i guess everyone else is sick of your BS, too. i received a full refund from grubhub.

I've been ordering from this place at least once a week during the pandemic (french toast and brunch combo omelette) and now that it's closing...I realize how much I never really appreciated this place and all it's charm. I took for granted all the late night coffees and corned beef hash, all the french toast for dinner and random pierogie/blintz/potato pancake cravings (it's been my go-to ever since Kiev closed). I wish the owners the best in their retirement but I really hope someone takes over this place. I've been coming here before it was a diner when it was still a bar next door. I'm sad for all the businesses that are closing in the neighborhood but this one...is particularly devastating, it feels like losing a piece of home; truly an east village institution. And please don't say Veselka is an alternative, it's a fine restaurant, don't get me wrong, but it's just not the same.

Had a excellent experience in this spot with my wife. The food came quickly and the service is just fantastic. Prices are fair.

I wasn't really impressed. Somewhat dirty, dingy place with some interesting people eating there late night on a Sunday when we visited. Four of us stopped by and ordered pierogies (some with kielbasa and potato pancakes) after having been out drinking nearby. Keep in mind I was with 3 guys who all enjoyed it, call me the picky girl but i just wasn't impressed. Service was a little standoffish, too. I don't see myself returning anytime soon.

I love this place so much! I used to go here a lot with my dad and my little sister when we lived down the block from there. Such sweet servers. :) Everybody is so nice and I also remember going here with lots of my family. I haven’t gone in a while but I plan to soon!

I ordered for delivery and they forgot my cheese on my order . Regard if its that small it was paid for and no delivered and dude on thr phone told me its a night time issue and continuously kept hanging up the phone on me. And to add on to that they damn sure called the night before to make sure to charge me for the eggs i didnt want. And once again no cheese on that order wither

Normally I don't post reviews. Especially during these hard times. But, eating out is nice sometimes even it's from home. But don't do it HERE. This place used to be the go to restaurant of the Lower East Side. It is now the place to AVOID. The food was mushy and cold when it arrived. It was just thrown on a platter and they clearly don't read the notes you put. Their response was "so I don't know you want credit?" WASTE OF MONEY! I literally threw out all my food. You would think since they have less customers because of Covid-19 it would have been made with more love. Nope! Try again. I give it 0 stars! But you need to give something so sadly was forced to give it a star!

The Chicken Marsala was what I expected from a diner. It wasn't bad. It comes with 2 sides. I got a huge garden salad as well for a side. The total came out to $16.55 not bad for what you receive.

Odessa had been closed in recent days, due to a temporary staffing issue - but they've now reopened, and they'll stay open as long as they can get a sufficient number of delivery people (at the moment they only have one delivery person, but they'll soon have new hires). Odessa's hours have now been reduced, as follows: 11 a.m.-2 a.m. on M-F and 11 a.m.-5 a.m. on S/S, but there are some days when they might not open until 5 p.m. and therefore the manager suggests that customers call before going there.
