Really liked this place but man has it gotten expensive. The steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious, and the crab stuffed mushrooms were insanely good. I felt duped by the waiter though because we ordered apps and as he was walking away he said “would you guys like some bread for the table?” Which I assumed was complimentary….but it was $10. So, watch out for that, it’s deceptive behavior.
This is not the old homestead I remember as a kid. They downsized so when you walk inside it’s like walking into dark cave with no windows, jam packed and super loud. The food itself was ok but not impressed as I hoped it would be. Steaks were tasty but the sides were not what I remember. We got the 12 oysters which were good, 2 colossal shrimp which were super hard and chewy, different steaks: sirloin & filet mignons which were good but the garlic mash potatoes were nothing...
We recently visited Olde Hempstead Steak House to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. Overall, we had a good experience. Our server, Melvin, was attentive and did a nice job taking care of our table throughout the evening.

The highlight of the meal was the special on the 32 oz. porterhouse for two, which included a salad for each person and two sides. It was a great value and the steak was enjoyable.
