We wanted to taste Georgian wines and cuisine, close to my daughter's place of work, for my Father's Day/Birthday combination celebration. Surprisingly, we were almost alone at Old Tbilisi. Luckily the staff were on deck, so we enjoyed delicious food including Imeruli Khachapuri, and Chakapuli. And a few good glasses of wine (my daughter is a SOM, so it was a tasting...) On top of that we could not have a nicer server. We just wish we'd been a bigger party, to justify...
Not what I would expect from Georgian cuisine. The flavor was very bland and they sauce was watery. I got chakapuli and some other similar dish - very underwhelming. The atmosphere is loud. All in all had the food been good I'd recommend it for the quality of service but the food was below average to put it mildly. Khinkali were not juicy and rather overcooked inside.
A person from Georgia suggested that I try their cuisine; I searched for Georgian food in nyc - and found it! Really wonderful place, great food, wonderful people and first rate service
