Yes, it isn't cheap. The food is very good, the workers were fast and efficient. Everyone I spoke to was friendly. Love their bagels (though not being from NYC, I'm sure there are plenty of other places that make great bagels.) Super convenient for the Hotel Lucerne. Small seating area. Went Saturday morning early, was not crowded - great selection.

Cannot trust for catering/large advance orders.

Ordered catering from UWS (in-person) for a party two weeks in advance (paid in full). The morning for which it was scheduled, I was told that the order was never entered into the system and they were "sorry," and I was offered a partial refund. Manager refused to call UES location and try and make it right - even though UES location had the items that UWS could not fulfill.

We came here for a nosh in the late afternoon after having a magical walk through Central Park, really striving for a quintessential New York tourist experience.

And no trip to New York is complete without a New York City bagel. The problem is, we weren’t the only ones to think that way, and we learned that the bagels and the food we wanted had sold out for the day. My hubby got whatever bagel was left for the day and it was probably one of the BEST bagels in New York.

So…moral of the story is get here early so you can get first dibs on the bagels and food.

Mercy and Enrique are always so nice and helpful. They don’t have an easy job with lots of tourists and locals. They also have outdoor seating and a bench in the warmer months.

Stopped by as this place looked like one of those bakeries where the products are made on site.
There is quite some queue, and the coffee order can take up to 10 minutes to be given to you.
I ordered a donut, which was good. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie, and I believe this was the best out of the 2.
The latte was very well done.
I appreciate the staff checking on us, asking which order we were waiting for, and sharing updates about the status of it.

Why did it take 15 minutes to get a small drip coffee? People were getting their sandwiches that require actual preparation in 5 minutes. You need new people manning the espresso machine and the coffee area because they were moving fast but doing absolutely nothing. When you charge so much for a perfectly average coffee this doesn’t cut it.

5 bucks for the gummiest baguette you’ve ever had, my jaw hurt after trying to chew one bite. Not to mention it was totally burned. Complete highway robbery. The last thing you’d expect from a literal bread bakery, so upsetting.

This bakery was recommended to me by a family member who lives nearby. I had only one item on the menu: doughnuts! They were fresh and well made. In fact I had to go back a second time in the same week for the exact same item. Very well done. The service was fine. I don’t particularly like the layout of the store, nor the flow of traffic once inside. However it will not deter me from returning again the next time I’m in the city!

We ate hot sandwiches and the pistachio croissant! Everything was delicious and at a fair price for NY.
