I had to get something to eat while at the Met because I hadn’t had a lot to eat this day and for someone with dietary restrictions, I didn’t feel they had the best selection. Some of their foods looked very yummy, but as someone who cannot have dairy, I felt a little disappointed by the options. For people who have dairy or gluten restrictions or are vegan, I suggest having a big meal before going on. For vegetarian or don’t have any restrictions, it should be totally fine!
My friend and I had brunch at the Petrie Court Cafe on a gloomy Sunday in October, and it was delightful. We had the charcuterie boxes, which were delicious, as well as a cappuccino and a latte, which were appropriately caffeinated. The view towards Central Park is not that remarkable, but the floor to ceiling windows provide a lot of natural light. The cafe was full, but interestingly the environment was not too loud.

Menu options for lunch were limited to a couple of overpriced sandwiches or salads.
We got a Turkey & Swiss Cheese Sandwich ($16.75+) in a plastic container, similar to what you would get at an airport kiosk here. The sandwich itself was ok, although considering it is the Met, it’d be nice if they served higher quality food.
