We met old friends at the members dining room, and were given a wonderful table overlooking Central Park. The waitress was unusually helpful, and efficient. I had been to this dining room before and found it quite disappointing for brunch, but I chose the chicken franchise and found it to be delicious. This is a lesser known small cafe inside the museum where you can take a break, have a decent coffee and snacks. Their desserts are surprisingly good, with a limited selection. I love going here for lunch. It's a special treat for out-of-town visitors who are astonished to be in this lovely room with its views of Cleopatra's Needle and the Park. The food is excellent and they have a lovely wine list. All in all, a great place to dine in New York's #1 Tourist attraction. And before and after lunch you can explore it to your heart's content.
