Sal and Carmine Pizza has the best pizza I have ever had. The aunts were fighting over the crust and they don’t even like crust! Even my grandma who has a very strict diet made an exception for this sublime pizza. Sal and Carmine is celebrating its 68th anniversary! If you like pizza, even if you have dietary restrictions, TRUST ME, you will love 🤩this pizza! Would HIGHLY recommend!
The pizza we got delivered was standard quality for NYC pizza… fantastic! It was slightly box soggy, but that is EVERY delivery pizza. (That is, that initial out of the over crunch isn’t there 100%, but rather 91%. ) If you want that out of the oven crunch, walk your butt to the pizza place and get it straight out of the oven.
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed when I came here. I had looked at this place online to find a nice spot to eat with a friend to celebrate something. I had seen a lot of high rated reviews, many saying how this was “a rather iconic place in the upper west side,” and had high expectations for this place, but didn’t have the best experience.
