It’s like a Zoolander’s Don Angie for Ants.Amazing staff & food was outstanding. To say the venue is ‘tiny’ is an understatement.Dietary restrictions: Great for nut allergies. Very contentious staff.

I didn't think the maneuverability of a restaurant could be worse than Don Angie until we dined at San Sabino. While Don Angie is packed and difficult to walk around because of the small and awkward space, I felt San Sabino was designed so you'd intentionally be bumping into someone else anytime you walked around. Nevertheless, we do not choose these restaurants for the layouts; we come for the other aspects which were significantly better than the table arrangements. We lined up around 4:30 on a weekday and were given a return time of 6:30. Fortunately, they were able to seat us at the bar where we received first class service from Monty. If you are able to request seating by server, then I'd highly recommend requesting to be seated at the bar with Monty. He was very knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. One of the most memorable experiences that we had from a service standpoint. He made us feel like regulars. Drink wise, cocktails and wines are the way to go. There is a select, yet varied wine menu with some very appealing wines by the glass. I opted for a white wine from Piedmont hoping the bold flavors would pair well with the creamy seafood dishes we ordered. First came out the cheesy frittelle. I believe these were lemon ricotta filled raviolis that were deep fried and topped with shredded parmigiana and black pepper. Starts super savory and finished with citrusy and earthy flavors. Next came the Japanese inspired Spica tuna. This was a sort of tuna carpaccio platted between arancini made with cheesy sushi rice and topped with what I believe was a Japanese rice seasoning. The texture of the arancini was more dense than typical arancini and had a perfect tater tot like fry on the exterior. For the main course, the lobster triangoli and the stuffed farfalle arrived simultaneously. They're pricey pasta based dishes at $38 and $32, respectively. Both were superb. Lobster triangoli is super creamy in a white vodka sauce. It was my wife's favorite. The stuffed farfalle was the bolder dish in my opinion. It's has a smokier flavor to it and a sharp aroma reminiscent of dried, shaved shrimp flakes. It's topped with tobiko given it a distinct burst. The menu is super approachable as it has their signature items highlighted. There were two gender neutral restrooms with one being handicap accessible. There was luxury soap and premium paper hand towels in the restrooms too.

Incredible!!! My friend and I really enjoyed our dining experience at San Sabino. Cute spot, cool vibes, great cocktails, and AMAZING food. For drinks, we loved their specialty rum cocktail and the Aperol one. For food, we especially loved the crudo app and farfalle pasta. Our waiter was great too, very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Can't wait to go back!

After trying and failing to snag a reservation 7 days out my friend and I swung by and joined the line at around 4:20 pm for Saturday evening service. We were probably the 6th or 7th party in line and we were able to be seated in the first seating a few minutes before 5pm, and were able to sit at a table they had available until 7pm. The space is beautiful, the yellow shades they used are really warm and inviting. The dishes are solid, as one has come to expect from the team at Don Angie, and a unique take on things. We had two raw dishes and the cheesy fritelli (I think that's what they were called), 2 pastas, a main and a dessert. We probably could have left satisfied without the main, but the steak was good so I don't regret having it. The service was friendly and attentive and he had some good suggestions about dishes and did a great job explaining them. I definitely plan on returning.

Like Don Angie or Torrisi, it's creative "Italian" food with excellent execution. Lots of quasi Asian flavors. The sort of place that you really can only find in NYC.Unfortunately it's also one of those super hyped spots with every resy snatched by bots the second they go live. The small saving grace here is that the owners are aware of this and do what they can to mitigate that, but it makes little difference on the ability to actually eat here, which is a shame.

Exceptionally unique and delicious take on Italian-inspired seafood. Gorgeous interior too. Very friendly and attentive service. Would have never guessed they’re only 3 weeks old. Wandered in on a rainy Tuesday night at 10:30 PM after our previous dinner plans fell through and got seated right away - lucky us! Had no idea how hot this place is - clearly for good reason!

I eat at Don Angie often and this is a formidable sister restaurant for sure. We ate at the bar after getting there an hour before opening to get towards the front of the line. With only 10 bar seats (and an occasional table) for walk-in diners, get there early. Food was excellent. Octopus carpaccio and Crab dip (*maybe serve a few more crackers with it) were light, well-seasoned, and a nice start. Stuffed crab Farfalle and Lobster Triangolini were delicious. Get a side of bread to sop up the sauces. Chicken was solid but not as memorable as the other dishes. Chocolate encased caramel gelato (think a slice of the best ice cream cake you'll ever have) was decadent. My friend enjoyed her mezcal cocktail (called the Sabitooch I believe) and wine. The food, room, and bar service were all excellent. The minus one star is due to despite waiting the hour on the line and ordering quite the full meal as noted above, the hostesses/managers were constantly glaring at our plates the latter half of the meal to see if we were done, obviously wanting to turn the seats over to the next group. It's not like we were chatting over empty plates, and certainly weren't eating slowly. Was a rushed and slightly uncomfortable end to a nice meal. Easily correctable, but management should realize seasoned restaurant goers notice this stuff.

The owners of Don Angie have struck gold again with San Sabino. And no, it’s not just a carbon copy of the their spot a few doors down. This Italian seafood inspired cuisine is unique in flavor and packed with punch, if even a little spice. The team here is incredibly friendly, even serving a shot of their specialty spritz to the line of people waiting to get a res, such a nice touch! We had:1. Crab & Mortadella dip: served with ritz crackers this was one of my favorite dishes2. Octopus carpaccio: super tasty and a very unique way to serve octopus3. Lobster triangoli w/ vodka sauce: stuffed with lots of delicious lobster bites and an incredible white vodka sauce4. Shrimp parm: just like it sounds and it was mouthwateringly good*nearly impossible to get a resy even if checking right at 9am*the line for walk-in a really does start at 4pm, but if you get there up until 4:30pm, your odds will be high!*Robert at the bar is fantastic! Great suggestions and fun to talk toTrust, it’s worth the wait though!

Incredible and innovative seafood first Italian!! Loved it and super nice and attentive service. Great atmosphere. Only issue is it's small with a really long line lol but so good!! Loved everything. Will go back!

Walked in a couple days after they opened and got seated at the bar around 7pm. Started with Scottie's martini which is a spicy garlic bread martini - sounds crazy but it was delicious!! I'd go back for that alone. We then got the cheesy frittelle, lobster pasta and spicy tuna. Everything was amazing. Great decor and vibes inside and the service was great as well. I'll be back!

San Sabino is the new must-have in NYC! I am a big fan of Don Angie, I actually went 3 weeks in a row a few months back, so I was obviously excited to try San Sabino. Wow! Very impressed all around. First, I'd like to thank Andre, possibly the best server Manhattan has to offer. Impeccable service, great recommendations and overall just a super friendly face and great conversation. Also, an excellent sommelier helped us to choose some great wines and also vintage amaro. Went with a group of 4, which allowed us to have a proper sampling of starters, pastas, mains and a dessert. We started with the cheesy fratelli, followed by the octopus carpaccio, crab dip and spicy tuna arancini. Hard to decide which was the best as they were all delightful in their own way. For pasta and mains we decided to try one seafood and one meat based. The triangoli lives up to the hype! For our mains both the shrimp parm and the steak were delicious. Don't leave without getting the gelato dessert.

This would 100% be my death row meal. One of the best meals I’ve had in NYCHad dinner last night - flawless execution and service despite being open for two short weeks. Everything we had was fantastic. Crab dip, octopus carpaccio, spicy tuna, potato croquettes, cheesy fritelle, lobster triangoli, carbonara, steak, and shrimp parm all excellent. Wine was great too. Huge shout to Andre for making our dinner enjoyable and fun. Cannnnnot wait to come back!!!!

Rarely does a sequel equal the original, but San Sabino is a worthy sibling to the uber creative Don Angie. The food is unique and delicious. The room is beautiful with a great vibe. The service is stellar. This is clearly the best new restaurant so far this year. If you are lucky enough to snag a reservation you must go.

I know this restaurant has A LOT of hype and high expectations and I will say that it's one of the best meals I've eaten so far this year. I'm not comparing the food directly to Don Angie because at the end of the day they are different restaurants with different menus and each are unique and delicious in their own way. The food was soooo flavorful and unique, but not in an overly "trying too hard" way. If you can snag a res, highly recommend trying. Vibe / Service: restaurant is a lot smaller than I anticipated. It's cozy and intimate, but feels hip. Doesn't seem like it would be good for bigger groups. There's a small bar with some seating as well. Feels like a good date night spot. Service was impeccable. Our server was friendly and knew the menu inside and out ready to offer up recs when we asked. Food: the star of the show. I'm not typically a huge seafood eater, but I would eat seafood every day if it tasted like this. I did family style between two people - it was slightly too much food for us to finish, but I basically recommend ordering all of the below: APPETIZERS: -Cheesy Frittelle: comes with 3 pieces. Not life changing, but so good. Fried, salty, sweet, slightly crunchy, but gooey from the cheese - would take this over bread and butter any day. -Scallop Crudo: comes in a cute seashell martini glass. Flavor is fairly mild and scallops literally melt in your mouth. Octopus Carpaccio: this was my favorite app. Everything about it is perfection and the bread with fresh herbs that accompany it is a must. -Spicy Tuna: basically a deconstructed version of crispy rice. It has some heat to it. I loved this as well. Second favorite app. MAINS: -Stuffed Farfalle: this was the pasta dish that the waiter recommended. She said when the wait staff tried it for the first time, everyone was blown away. She didn't lie. This dish was delicious and unique. I don't even know how to properly describe the taste, that's how unique it was. With that said, I think it's a good shareable, not sure I'd want this as my sole entree. -Lobster Triangoli: this was my favorite pasta dish. Comes with 4 triangles. It was so good. -Pepperoni Carbonara: this is a pretty big portion. This wasn't spicy at all. I enjoyed. DESSERT: Can't remember the exact name but I think it was the Panna Cotta. This was the most underwhelming thing we ordered. Not bad, but you could probably skip. DRINKS: Not pictured but the Scotties Martini was amazing.

Amazing. Loved this new spot by Don Angie! Very cozy and the interior is very similar. The pastas are all very unique (think along the lines of DA's Carmelli) and shrimp parm was delicious although I didn't realize it would be on top of chicken. Highly recommend if you like Italian American food and would say quality and caliber of service is on par with Don Angie.
