Absolute gem! Came in for the 6pm show on a Sunday, and ended up staying for the band’s 7.30pm set too. First time going solo to a jazz club and this was the perfect spot for it - small venue, great band and service, and a friendly crowd. Will be returning when I’m next in NYC!
Located in West Village, this jazz venue offers a great range of good quality jazz live music.
The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and the drink prices felt reasonable by Manhattan standards.
That said, the experience did not fully match my expectations. The venue is quite small and located in a basement space that felt less comfortable than I had anticipated. Admission was $35 (pre-booked) per person, and guests are also required...

Smalls has always been my favorite jazz spot in New York. There is something special about this place that still feels real compared to many other venues in the city. Small room, close audience, no unnecessary distractions, just music.
