The salmon 🍣 hand roll is perfection. Warm rice, lightly chilled salmon and a crisp sheet of nori, please try at least one when you visit. This is one of the few food spots in NYC we keep coming back to time and time again.

Cool spot and decent price. I liked the option where they order for you and bring set plates/courses. However they do not have cocktails or full bar service which is a bit unique

SUGARFISH never disappoints! The sushi is always super fresh, simple, and full of flavor. Everything from the rice to the fish is perfectly done, and the service is smooth and friendly. One of the best places in NYC for high-quality sushi at a great value!

Fish quality was good, but meal lacked some attention to detail that could have elevated it. Not the stunning experience I was hoping for.

Absolutely one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood!
I’ve been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, and I have to say—Sugarfish truly stands out. The food is always incredible, the ambiance relaxing yet refined, and the entire team runs like a well-oiled machine.

That said, Ari deserves special mention. She’s one of those rare people who seem to be everywhere at once—greeting guests with genuine warmth, helping the servers, checking in on tables, and making sure everyone feels cared for. You can really tell she takes pride in what she does, and that energy carries through the entire restaurant.

Sugarfish has built a great crew here, and Ari is a big reason why it all feels so seamless and welcoming. Highly recommend for lunch, dinner, or any occasion when you want great food and even better service.

SUGARFISH is a beautifully designed restaurant with a calm, modern atmosphere. The fish is fresh, the presentation is elegant, and the “Trust Me” set is a clever way to make sushi approachable without losing refinement.

Still, it feels a bit too polished — like the warmth and soul of traditional sushi have been replaced by a perfectly timed system. The rice was a little loose, and the flavors, while clean, lacked the depth I was hoping for.

I respect what they’re doing — making high-quality sushi accessible to more people — but personally, I prefer a place with a bit more character and intimacy.

This is my weekly staple. The quality of the fish is insane and the price is so reasonable

We are loyal Sugarfish lovers but our dinner last night will likely be our last. The restaurant was so dark, nobody could read the menu nor see our food. We were not alone. Everyone had a flashlight or phone out. When food arrived it was thrown on the table with an inaudible explanation. We had no idea the last dish was our last one and we left hungry. Food taste is still good but it’s no longer the satisfying, good value meal it used to be. We were in and out in 30 minutes so it felt like fast food. The only delay was getting a server to come by so we could order more food. Really disappointing experience.

Well I can’t even rate the food because I could not even get to the table. Go here if you are not hungry. Wait time on weekends can we more than an hour. Btw no reservations allowed

The sushi here is soo good! It’s like butter, melts in your mouth!! You can tell the difference in quality of other sushi spots after eating at sugarfish - it’s just on a different level.
