I’ve never in my life seen someone act as out of line and quite honestly as insane as the receptionist at this bar. Multiple guests had horrible interactions with her and she was intentionally turning down reservations to spite guests.

Racist/classist/ discriminatory staff!!!!My family and I had the most terrible experience here on Sunday March 3rd, 2024. We were celebrating my parents wedding anniversary and decided to end our evening with a drink at Baccarat bar as my mom really enjoyed the bar. We arrived at 10:30pm and were approached by 'Nikki' the hostess. She promptly said the bar is closed. We asked if they had last call already she said "yes, I'm going to turn on the lights now". We were leaving then my mom went to use the washroom before heading out. Nikki was staring at us waiting by the washroom and then spoke to a man who we learned was 'Tenzin' the manager. We don't know what was said but right after Tenzin instructed a security to stand at the bar entrance.Nikki walked back past us and my Dad asked her what time was last call as the bar closes at 11.She said last call was at 10:20.Then she said to my dad "This is a 5 star hotel, we do things differently here." and then she walked away!I'm not sure what that was supposed to mean but the insinuation is that people like us (brown/coloured/darker skin people) don't belong at places like this '5 star' establishments. This upset all of us greatly, never have we experienced such 5 star treatment and service. We were leaving but I went to the front desk to get the hostess name for this review, they were quite appalled and went to get the manager Tenzin. We spoke with him and he said he was aware that we came for a drink and said Nikki's comments & behaviour were unacceptable. He asked for my information as he would "speak to the higher ups". I left my name, phone number, and email. It has been almost 2 weeks since this incident so I decided to write this review. I guess 5 star establishments have really gone downhill.

The Bar at the Baccarat has always been a favorite of mine in New York. It's absolutely STUNNING and always a luxurious treat or gorgeous place to bring out of town guests. Last week I had an appointment at the LaMer spa in the Baccarat and arrived at the hotel early to enjoy the bar as a special treat for my birthday. The bar staff were so wonderful making me feel welcome and celebrated even though I was there by myself. I want to give a special shoutout and thank you to Debbie that taught me so much about all the beautiful chandeliers in the space, provided the best bar service, and surprised me with a birthday dessert and glass of champagne. The Bar can be hard to get a seat at because they don't offer reservations but don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this special space :)

Pathetic services food was decent not the way it used to be. But the service was appalling.Food took a lot of Time to come. Cutlery was not given with the soup. Took so much time to take the order. Servers need a lot of training. They just walk around with no idea what to do.

Good food and drinks but the service in the small room outside the back sucks.

Came by for a drink because I was in the neighborhood and had earmarked the bar after buying some really beautiful Baccarat rocks glasses. Opulent setting. Attentive, professional bar tenders. Good cocktail; not in the top tier of NYC for the price, but the ambience was worth the price for the experience.

Disappointing Experience at BACCART Hotel My recent stay at Bacc-rat Hotel left much to be desired. Initially excited for a gathering place, I was met with after-hours business meetings characterized by negative discussions about companies. The atmosphere was soured further by the condescending attitude of Metra D, prioritizing certain guests over others based on perceived importance. The dress code disparity added to the discomfort, with guests looking basic in jeans while my party was dressed impeccably. However, the saving grace was the accommodating host at another part of the hotel who provided excellent service, culminating in a superbly crafted French martini that helped salvage the evening. In summary, Baccarat Hotel was a misleading and misguided choice, catering primarily to individuals venting about their work frustrations rather than providing a relaxing environment for guests to enjoy life. As the French saying goes, "Misleading, misguided, et absolument pas l'endroit de quiconque." (Misleading, misguided, and absolutely not anyone's place.) Overall, I cannot recommend boooo to that Hotel for those seeking a genuine retreat from the stresses of everyday life.

Me and my friends made Three reservations to celebrate my birthday. Each one of us had a reservation for 5 guests, which totaled 15. Also, two guests got there early, a married couple and a client of mine, who ultimately were seated under their and ordered a bottle and invited another couple to join. So total it was 17 folks who came out to celebrate. Once I got there, the female host (not sure of her background but she was lighter skinned or European) who appeared to be running point on staff was doing what she could to accommodate to ensure we all sat nearby at the grand salon. This male taller African American guy who I see often when I go, told a person in my group that he would place us all together in the bar area. This is NOT something I asked for. At this point, my guests were sitting in the dining area but were confused about why we had to move— this was almost an hour into our reservation and no service was offered, so some folks started to order the bar as we waited to be seated and serviced. The taller male guy constantly made comments to the guests to make them feel unwanted and uncomfortable about being in the space. Some of these guests were from out of town and seated but he continued to make comments like “ this not that type of bar” implying that guests can't order from the bar I assumed but most took it as racial profiling because his comments didn't make sense. As I got the party to sit in the space, this guy then plucked me out of the group (in front of all my guests — which was embarrassing), took me into the hall with the female hosts, and proceeded to reprimand me and talk down to me and say he will force to charged me a minimum— which his tone made me feel like he thought me or my guests wouldn't have the money or be deterred from staying. I asked him several times to stop speaking to me in that manner and share what the minimum was, the female manager/hosts intervened and then shared the min. I agreed and offered my card, but the woman

I recently visited a usually favorite bar of mine that left me utterly disappointed and disheartened. First and foremost, the service was shockingly terrible. The staff seemed disinterested and lacked basic professionalism and courtesy. My significant other was celebrating his birthday and the remarks that was told to a large group of black people was disheartening and disappointing. We constantly was told that “This is not that type of bar” when we tried to order at the bar, while server never addressed the table to even take our order after sitting for almost an hour. And it was unfortunate that it was told to us by another black person working at the establishment. We decided to leave and take our business elsewhere since it seemed we was not welcomed and didn't want our money. We will never attend this establishment again due to these unfortunate circumstances.

Beautiful interior, but horrible service. Way overpriced too. Staff rushed us out toward the end. Not a very good experience.

We are neighborhood clients,We walk in on Friday January 26th-2024(10:15pm) After waiting for someone we asked a waiter passing by,we need a table, his answer, let me call the hostess. The hostess came(guy)we pointed out 2 empty tables, he goes they are reserve (10:40pm) at this point, with an attitude,a college kid behind us request the same.at the same time 2 seats open at the bar, the hostess rush to the bar an offer 1 seat to the kid behind us, I go I'm waiting I'll take those 2 seats,he look at me like I have 10 heads. We going ahead seat at bar, the hostess tell the kid, you can have that table(the table that was supposed be reserve at 10:45 pm)At the bar we order Champagne an Martini, the second round the Martini was serve in a WATER GLASS,we ask why she goes I don't have anymore glasses.$45+ drink serve like that. They need to FIRE everyone or send them to a training class, learn from the stuff at the Carlyle, The Mark, Peninsula, King Cole Bar. etcOur experience at the restaurant is always good with our nice waiter Elez always ready to help.Last I did spoke to the hostess manager that night, was not to much help.If we spending $200 for 4 drinks not a problem, but I need my Martini in the proper glass. On top, we tip (shame on us)rate 1 b/c they should put 0 as well, this time they deserve a 0-

Forget your dimly lit speakeasies and your trendy rooftop havens, The Bar at Baccarat Hotel is a different breed of beast. It's a temple of opulence, a playground for the senses, and a testament to the finer things in life. From the moment you step through the Baccarat-adorned doors, you're transported to a world of glittering chandeliers, black and white marble floors, and velvet-accented seating that begs you to sink in and stay a while. We walked into The Bar after our off Broadway jaunt. Walking into The Bar feels like stepping into a luxurious Parisian salon, reimagined for the 21st century. Soaring barrel-vaulted ceilings adorned with intricate moldings and glittering chandeliers set the stage. Art, in all its forms, takes center stage: sculptures gleam amidst the plush seating, a massive tapestry hangs like a silent observer, and the iconic black and white harlequin floor adds a touch of playful drama. Every corner is a photo op, every detail a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship that went into creating this space. But The Bar isn't just about aesthetics; it's a haven for the social butterfly. Different lounge areas cater to different moods: the intimate booths tucked away offer a haven for hushed conversations, while the central bar buzzes with energy as expertly dressed bartenders craft bespoke cocktails. People-watching here is an art form. You'll find fashionistas sporting the latest trends, art collectors discussing their latest acquisitions, and power players making deals between sips of vintage Champagne. We enjoyed purveying the crowd while we sipped on our choice of top shelf tequila. Neat. And throughout it all, the service is nothing short of impeccable. The host greets you with a warm smile and a knowing glint in their eye, guiding you to the perfect spot to soak in the atmosphere. The waitstaff, as polished as the Baccarat crystals themselves, anticipate your every need and move with a quiet grace that befits the grandeur of the space. The Bar at Baccarat Hotel is more than just a bar; it's an experience. It's a place where luxury meets artistry, where conversation flows as smoothly as your choice of beverage, and where every detail is orchestrated to perfection. It's a playground for the discerning crowd, a haven for the socialite, and a feast for the senses for you when you decide to step through its doors.

One of the worst bars in NYC. I have been here several times. Bartenders give no service, very pretentious, and act like they are doing you a favor. Stay away. It’s awful. Worst bar in
