I was there a few weeks ago and sampled the mezcal flights and small plates, all of which were delicious. I had never before tasted such an amazing and interesting array of mezcals If you're a mezcal enthusiast or just looking for a fun night out, this is the place!
Angel is an Angel!!! He went over the history and polination of agave plants, it felt like it was a private guide but we were just ordering mezcal flights :~) coming back literally for Angel!
This intimate East Village spot has a dark, moody speakeasy vibe with beautiful cabinet-like shelving full of mezcal bottles and warm lighting. The mezcal cocktails are outstanding tried the smoky margarita and an Oaxacan old-fashioned, both perfectly balanced. Shared the guacamole and crispy tacos fresh and flavorful. Staff was knowledgeable and passionate about mezcal. Total around $30-50 per person. One of the best mezcal bars in the city!
