The food and vibe was great! Service was overall good as well. Our only gripe was food came out lightening fast. Like we had only taken a few bites of our appetizers and our entrees were out. It's a pet peeve of mine. We had an early reservation because we had show tickets at 7. We arrived at 4 and apps and entrees were all on the table by 4:25. it would have been nice for them to course the meal better= maybe we were victim to the super early reservation. We had to ask them to wait 10 minutes to put in our dessert. "it takes 15 minutes to make" We still asked them to wait 10 minutes so we could breath a little. Otherwise drinks, food, etc were great! My husband is a french onion soup snob and he loved it! I was obsessed with the elgin chopped salad. The Jefferson cocktail was delicious and unexpected. Overall would definitely eat here again when in Times Square area.

I really enjoyed the environment and our server. The drinks were great. But I ordered a turkey sandwich which was very sparse in turkey. Disappointing. Because of that, I may not return.

Love The Elgin! Enjoy a meal every time I visit NYC! Love the atmosphere and, in particular, the appetizers and value can't be beat! Phenomenal menu and food quality. This trip, our bartender was not very personable. Could not tell you her name.....she did not share it. The other male bartender working during the same shift was very pleasant - and when our bartender went on break or left for the day, the female bartender who took her place was delightful!

The burger (the Elgin burger) I got was good! Cooked just right, and one of the thickest burger I ever had! Fries were very good too. I liked how it looks inside, but it is quite noisy.

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! The wait staff was friendly and accommodating, the whole place was nicely decorated for the Christmas holiday, and the atmosphere was very cool. Prices weren't bad for NYC either. Highly recommend, definitely worth a visit!
Was in NY to see all the Christmas stuff. Was starving and stopped into The Elgin. This place is beautifully decorated and the bar and 1st level was packed. There were 5 of us and we didn’t have reservations. They put us upstairs at a high top for 5. It was perfect Now the service. We were very well cared for by Sinead (sp?) She was very busy and still took very good care of us. Last but not least, the food. Everything we ordered was amazing. When we left there were many people debating whether to go in or not. I told them they weren’t going to get a better meal anywhere so they all went in.
