one of the top Omakase place in the city , this place is on very affordable at $75 for 13 courses. it's only 1hr dining which feel a little rushed. especially if you want to order extras and drinks. Service is great, everyone is very friendly, theres very limited seating on the hours. Dont arrive too early, you wont be seated until close to the hour. The food quality is very good, fish are thick cut with some interesting toppings. I'm not a fan of all the pieces such as the scallops uses too much lemon juice and extra lime zest overpower the scallop sweetness. The truffle on the tuna is not fresh truffle, they used preserved truffle in oil so the flavor is not strong. but overall it's very satisfying for this price tag.

I’ve been to the $300+ omakase and this dinner is a different experience. Don’t expect the long winded explanations and the slow, methodical preparation.13Water is fast and delicious. Our entire meal tasted fresh and each piece was very good. The servers were attentive and quick to fill our water glasses. Overall, a wonderful experience and reasonably priced.

Food 8/10My thoughts straight from the sushi journal in real-time:1. Snapper sea salt lemon juice lime: too much citrus but fish is soft2. Chutoro: good wasabi balance, jelly-like consistency3. Yellowtail shishito pepper: I like the char and the pepper pairing, a little chewier4. Tuna truffle: fire, surprised I did appreciate truffle being added can definitely taste it5. Shima aji: garlic chip most of the flavor, soft texture6. Salmon tomato; mushy7. Ikura: lemon zest. Why does this taste like boba to me8. Botan ebi: kinda sweet, but not the sweetest, strong wasabi9. Scallop: lime zest yuzu, no chew bite right through tender big scallop piece, very strong citrus again10. Otoro toro caviar: caviar unnecessary but I love tuna so this was great, not too fishy11. Eel: always solid, just a teensy bit dry12. Toast: uni and toro, i love uni, bread was unnecessary would prefer w rice. This is what I don’t like about innovative sushi13. Toro handroll: a little small idkThey are very generous with their fish pieces. The rice itself is not very distinct, light on the wasabi, little loose wish it had more vinegar, and we asked for less rice. I don’t like frills in omakase, so this was definitely not my style.Atmosphere 3/10Horrible ventilation bumped down the ranking significantly. The oil fumes made my head hurt. The counter is three-sided. Typical mid-tier omakase pretty good price for what you get in NYC.Service 5/10Nice service. Because it’s a timed omakase spot, they fed us piece after piece quite consecutively, but not complaining about it.

Such a great deal $75 for 13 course omakase with add-on options. All the items tasted fresh and delicious. Chutoro and otoro toro caviar were my favorites, and the salmon tomato took me by pleasant surprise. They brought frozen cups for our beers which I love. The 1 hour limit totally works because there's minimal conversations with the sushi chef. We were 10 min late to our reservation but they were understanding.

After many positive experiences at Thirteen Water, we were treated very rudely today by the host/server (wearing the “Anti-social Social Club” hoodie). In the middle of service, he left through the front door and could be seen smoking and talking with people on the sidewalk. Our water glasses were empty and we wanted another round of sake. When he finally returned, he began refilling water without washing his hands. We asked for another 30cc bottle of sake and he said, “Do you think you will be able to finish it in 25 minutes?”. His rude demeanor saved us from wasting another $50 on a mediocre experience.

The fish is amazing and the place serves the best omakase experience for that price. I am a regular at the place , but the last time I went there, I reserved the last shift 9 pm. all I can say, is avoid going for the last shift, as the servers rush to push you out the door in half hour, which makes is an unpleasant experience.

Decent atmosphere, nothing breathtaking but definitely cozy. Service was excellent as expected from an Omakase place. Courses were fresh, tasty, and clean. Brought my gf here and it was her first time trying sushi, she thought the food was delicious but texture might throw-off newcomers.

A very good place among the <$100 omakase places. Lots of food, decent quality fish (not from Japan but still fresh), particularly the chutoro which they don't skimp out on.I will say that on second visit they use more sauce / oil on the fish than other places, which helps provide flavor but is a bit heavy and overwhelms the fish sometimes. Contrast that with the top omakase places that either let the fish speak for itself.Still great quality overall.
