Service was fine, but for the price I felt that the food was average and unexciting. If you're going to charge 10$ for rice, at least have good fish. Don't waste your time.

This spot was recommended to me via TikTok and Instagram. Unfortunately it does not live up to the hype that others have shared and praised so highly about. I'm rating this solely on the food/packaging it came in because I don't mind waiting on line to order plus additional wait time to receive my order. And the people making it are hard at work making these sandwiches and drinks in this small adorable location. When I saw their menu, it had a wide selection to choose from (there were only 3 items already sold out when I arrived) so I ordered the Tuna Salad and Egg Onigirazu. It looked beautifully packaged but was a hassle to carefully remove the tape and unwrap to get to the food. Once I took my first bite, it lacked flavor. From the tuna which should be creamier with Japanese Mayo without being too goopy, rice should have more rice seasoning to add more depth, and egg should've been diced up into smaller slices rather than right down the middle. Lastly the seaweed lacked that crunch factor, I understand it is folded and tightly packed in sandwich form but I think the moisturizer of the clear wrap made it soggy for me. Lastly, it requires a certain way to eat so it doesn't fall apart in your hands and make a mess which it did for me no matter which angle or way I ate it. I personally didn't like it but don't let this stop you from going to try this yourself

Cute little takeout spot! I ordered the fried chicken onigirazu and it was only a five minute wait until it was ready. It was larger than I was expecting, making it a little messy to eat. The fried chicken was well seasoned and tasty. It makes a great snack!

This is a small shop in East Village and there isn't much room to stand inside, so you will have to wait outside for your food. It takes a bit to prepare since the Onigirazu are made fresh to order. I came in a Sunday morning and the wait wasn't too bad, about 20 minutes. I ordered a couple Onigirazu and drinks: * Karaage with Garlic Chili Oil Onigirazu - 8.5/10 - This was my favorite onigirazu that I tried. The chili oil and mayo combo kept the sandwich moist and delicious. The Karaage wasn't too crispy, but it still tasted very good. * Ramen-ish Onigirazu - 8/10 - Initially, I liked that rice was seasoned with the instant ramen broth powder, because it made it flavorful However, towards the end it started to get too salty. The chashu pork was good though and I like the cute detail of the fish cake on top. * Beef and Ginger Onigirazu - 7.5/10 - This one had your typical guydon flavor. The ginger added a nice zing of sourness with the meat. It was nothing super special though. * Hot Tokuyamatcha Latte - 7/10 - This tasted like a nice high quality matcha. It's not sweet at all and it's earthy, so keep that in mind if you like sweet matcha lattes. * Iced Mocha Matcha Latte - 7.5/10 - The mocha part of this latte tasted like Hershey's chocolate syrup so it was reminiscent of chocolate milk drink I had as a child. But, just elevated with the matcha flavor. Overall, I would come again if I was in the area and the line wasn't too long. I think the Onigirazu were a bit overpriced for what you're getting, but they were delicious. Also, they're messy to eat so make sure you have napkins.

Finally trying Tokuyamatcha & Onigirazu Bar, and wow!!! Came in on a Saturday afternoon to a line out the door. Waited around 15 minutes to order & 20 minutes for the food to come out. Ordered the Frid Chicken Chili Crunch Onigiri & Miso Tuna Avocado onigiri. Spicy fried chicken was good! Lacked a little punch for me, but was super fresh, and the meat was really tender. The star of the show was the Miso Tuna Avocado onigiri. GET IT!!! So flavorful, had miso paste in the tuna salad, soy sauce, and sesame seeds. So fresh and tasty. One of the best bites i've had in a long time. Looking forward to coming back soon! Good stuff here
