Pretty weird that the Micky Rivers is only available at some locations and not others? And then seemingly it’s just a completely different sandwich that they decide to give you? The team was very willing to replace and help me though. Awesome management.

I’m an old client of the original location on Avenue A, and I use to consider it the beat bagel in NYC. But today I placed an order, and for some reason when you place an order on DoorDash they delivery always from the location on 2nd Ave, and I was very disappointed when I received my bagel with scallion tofu spread and there was a LONG HAIR inside of the tofu spread. I contacted the restaurant and already received my money back through DoorDash, but I’m not sure if I will ever order from Tompkins Square Bagels ever again.

Ok so… not my favourite bagel. It wasn’t as warm and chewy and ooey gooey as I would’ve liked. Cream cheese was too much and in your face. But to each their own

Asked for toasted with cream cheese, they gave me a untoasted sponge with cream cheese excessively piled on.

These bagels just are not that good. They lack the chewiness of real good nyc bagels. This caters to tourists who don’t have perspective on good bagels. Staff was nice though.

Honestly I can’t believe how many things this place screwed up in 1 order.

2 out of 4 bagels that were supposed to be toasted were not toasted.

One bagel add cheese PAY Extra for mozzarella and instead they did NO cheese

Ordered an ice chai latte add sugar and soy milk. Received an iced coffee instead.

The Kaitlyn is supposed to be scrambled eggs. Received egg whites only instead.

No bueno

Worst bagel of my life. I can’t paid $20 for a bagel which was supposed to have egg, lox, and caramelized onion. To my horror, the lox was cooked with the egg (turning it into a hot grey cooked salmon, so bizarre) and the onion was RAW. It was actually disgusting. The bagels themselves are fine but do yourself a favor and just go simple and be careful with the fancy sandwich options.

Had a fantastic bagel but even better than that, after I had planned my time badly before a job interview, Philippe came through with incredible advice on ordering (you’re right, it IS the best order) and helped me move through the line faster than would’ve been possible otherwise. Hopefully I get the job so I can come by a lot more often.

good but not the best in nyc. Would stop it close by, wouldn’t come from far ?

Also for a 1st timer they don’t explain the ordering process and was not friendly.

Someone approach you when waiting in queue asking what you want, as a tourist I had to take a fast choice, and a spread on the side ?

I love bagels. These bagels were so fresh. Melt in your mouth, soft. The cream cheese is homemade, and comes in many flavors.

Best vegan bagel I’ve had in LIFE. I will dream of this bagel until I next eat it. Thank you for doing a vegan option justice!

Vegetarian options: A few vegan options on the menu with Beyond Meat, vegan cheese and JustEgg

The staff member who took my order was very kind :) I had egg bacon and plain bagels, but honestly, I think it was the worst bagel I've had in New York. It was good because the bacon wasn't salty, but the overall seasoning was boring and the bagel bread was too tough. With this combination of ingredients, I liked it. Any bagel place you go to will be able to make it at least average, so there's no need to go to a famous bagel place to eat it.

The best Tompkins Square Bagels location and my new favourite bagel spot in the city - and I tried many! Very fresh, fluffy and perfect sized and spaded bagels, my personal fave the whole wheat everything. Huge variety of tofu cream cheeses, the sun dried tomato and spinach and artichoke are amazing. Very friendly and helpful staff, I could try the cream cheeses before purchasing. Unfortunately my stay in the city is
over for now but I’ll be back!
