Let me tell you, Yamada Chikara NY was really astonishing. Not only was I impressed with the ambience and the atmosphere, but the food and service were great as well! Incredible food, Fried Gorgonzola was incredible without a doubt. This Fried Gorgonzola was prepared just perfectly. Staff are super courteous. They're accommodating, well-mannered and always on their game. Certainly check it out.

This is a very unique dining experience in NYC. We went on a Saturday night around 8:30 and there were only 2 other couples dining at the same time as us. The food was very good as was the service and I would definitely recommend the drink pairing which comes with a variety of alcohol including wine and sake. I wish it had been warm enough to check out the courtyard after our meal as it looked like a good place to sit to finish a drink when the weather is nice.

Great option in midtown for a special occasion. Everything was great and met my expectation. If you have allergy/dietary restriction, they will adjust the menu for you. Highly recommend the alcohol pairing for the omakase.

By far, this has been one of the best restaurants I have been to globally. The service was impeccable (Tomo is super awesome), the food was completely awesome, and best of all the atmosphere was approachable. If you're looking for an add-on to your typical omakase experience, visit Yamada Chikara. I shall return for what I expect to be another great dining experience overall!

This has a fantastic Omakase, one of the top in the city! The staff and service were excellent and each dish was delicious and interesting. The drink pairing was very good and well priced. They have a beautiful garden in the back that was too cold to sit in but would be a great place to eat in nice weather, I will definitely be returning!

The noise level is really limited which is very appreciated after a long day in New York. The restaurant offers only 2 omakase menus. I took the first one and I have to say I was amazed by the fresh food and the pure quality. One of the best Japanese cuisine choices in NYC if you are looking for something interesting other than the usual sushi / sashimi offerings. Kushiage is a deep frying technique not dissimilar to tempura frying but with no batter or very light batter. The menu offers a wide assortment of inventive creations to delight the palate. The service is counter type, so the chef attending you will be cooking each skewer individually for you, making it a fun and luxurious experience. Don't miss it.

Had a great dining experience at this restaurant. Everything was done in perfection and the attention to detail was unsurpassed. The set menu was very well planned out and executed and the fried courses did not feel heavy at all. The chef took care to introduce every dish and was very informative. It was a rainy night so we did not get to go to the backyard to enjoy the dessert courses so hopefully next time as I will definitely go back.
Some dishes just above my imagination of food. Expensive, but try it, at least once.
