“We rolled into Old Forge with big weekend energy… Mother Nature said, “Absolutely not.” Plans? Cancelled. Weather? Rude. Morale? Questionable. But then like a beacon of hope shining through the Adirondack gloom we discovered Front Door Diner and Back Door Bar. Breakfast in the front like respectable citizens. Lunch and dinner in the back like we pay rent there. At one point I’m pretty sure they were considering giving us our own booth and forwarding our mail. The food? Unreal. The service? Elite. The vibes in the back? Exactly what eight grown men needed after getting emotionally bullied by the weather. What started as a busted weekend turned into a “Well… at least we found our new favorite spot” kind of trip. Officially proud to call myself a Back Door Boy. Membership pending Tom’s signature. 😎🍻“

“Best food and best service in Old Forge. Beware, only open past 2 PM on Fridays for fish fry. I wish it was open for dinner always. All the locals there do r a reason.“

“We went here for a fish fry on our 35th anniversary. The portions were huge, cooked perfectly, and delicious. We have ordered wings here several times for take out and they were also, large portion, cooked perfectly and delicious. We would not hesitate to recommend this place stop in the convenient location in Eagle Bay.“

“My mom got the biggest pancakes I’ve ever seen! Very tasty and full of flavor!! Our server was delightful! My omelette and coffee was delicious!!! Great place!!“

“Stayed this weekend and had a great time. The property is beautiful! We loved that we could book a room with bunk beds for the kids. Dinner at the restaurant was great as well. Decor is cozy in the best way. Everything we could want for a weekend in ADK“

“We were throughly impressed with our lunch at Daikers. We were seated in the deck with an incredible view of 4th lake. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Our umbrella needed adjusting, and they immediately come to our assistance with a new one! The food was tasty. We then rented a pontoon boat from them - it was spotless. The owner and entire staff were incredible. We will return.“

“Dec. 6 I know it's off season. Coffee and french fries good. Service good. But pulled pork I could add ketchup and added 100% to zest. Wife's fish quality but greasy as hell. Cole slaw tasted like apples nothing similar to Cole slaw at all. Probably won't eat there again. Plus pulled pork barley luke warm.“

“This place is a “hidden but not hidden” gem. Service is amazing every time. Food is phenomenal (try the beef barley soup) and you always leave full and with a smile on your face! Ryan and the family are great people we enjoy coming here as much as we can!“
