“While visiting beautiful Alexandria Bay, we stumbled upon Dark Island Spirits. Let me tell you, we were so glad that we did. The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by friendly faces and knowledgeable staff who guided us on our tasting journey. We tried a few flights, and to be honest, we enjoyed every single tasting sample. We ended up leaving with a few bottles of the Eleanor Glen 1000 Islays - Peated American Single Malt Whiskey as well as a few bottles of the Mountain Strong - Corn whiskey aged in one of our used bourbon barrels. If you're in the area, I highly suggest stopping by and trying some amazing and unique spirits. UPDATE: 8/28/24 Stopped back in and got to meet Kelly and William. Both had an infectious energy and made our visit totally amazing. Can not recommend Dark Island enough. Try a flight or grab a drink and chill on the patio. Can't wait for our next visit.“

“We’re visiting in the offseason and after striking out at some of the restaurants in town, we came here more by default than anything, as we’re staying at the hotel. So I went in with pretty low expectations, which thankfully were well surpassed. Angie was the only server working the whole restaurant and she did so without breaking a sweat - a true pro. And our food was very good - my blackened mahi mahi was cooked perfectly. The prices were reasonable and the location couldn’t be beat as we were staying two floors above. A solid 5 star experience.“

“Our go-to tex-mex take home, or lunch break out in the sum on the patio = have not had a bad meal here and such a relaxing view & vibe. Bowl, salad or taco - ingredients are always fresh, orders are quick and accommodating, and portions big enough to share!“

“😊I have eaten here many times, especially summer and deep into fall. We bring family. We bring friends from out of state. We find the menu consistently creative, lots of choices, many things to like. Hard to pick a favorite, but like fish tacos and paninis, plus apps. Some of the desserts can be just awesome. I'll be there again at least several times this summer. Always find the people nice and welcoming. I have had lunch (mostly) and dinner, and even met for business of a non-profit there. It is a favorite place on the river.“

“The old Hampstead restaurant in Alexandria Bay was superb. The staff is most friendly, and great address immediately. We ordered the lobster with spinach, lobster Florentine I believe, and it was absolutely delicious. We substituted rice for mashed potatoes. It came with a salad. We ordered bread and had a delightful dinner. We did sit outside and it was a lovely evening. When I visit Alexandria Bay again, it will definitely be on my list of best restaurants to revisit.“
