“We were travelling from Montreal back to Toronto and had a stop in Ottawa for some work. While looking for a good breakfast spot, we came across Pur & Simple in Nepean and decided to give it a try.

We arrived, placed our breakfast order, and were looking forward to enjoying our meal. Due to a small communication error, one of our items was accidentally missed from the order. However, what happened next is what truly made our experience memorable.

Another team member, who I believe might have been the manager or owner, personally came over, apologized for the inconvenience, and made sure the missing item was taken care of immediately. There was no hesitation, no unnecessary explanation, and no back-and-forth. Just a genuine apology and a quick resolution.

Mistakes can happen anywhere, and no restaurant is perfect. What truly makes a difference is how a business handles those situations. The way the team responded showed professionalism, accountability, and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.

Sometimes, it’s not just about the food. It’s about how you’re treated, how welcomed you feel, and how a business makes you feel valued as a customer.

A big appreciation to the entire team, especially the person who stepped in and handled the situation so graciously.

Excellent customer service like this deserves recognition. We will definitely keep Pur & Simple in mind for our future visits to Napean!!

“We went in on whim for brunch after seeing some good reviews and wow. The food was outstanding, which we could tell when we walked in because the restaurant smelled amazing. And It was nicely traditionally decorated and everything was neat and clean. The waiter was very friendly, and the menu was big but clear. We ordered: Kaak (traditional bread - kinda like a much better pita), the halloumi, shakshouka, a meat and cheese pie (large), and a dip I can’t recall the name of but it was made with roasted red peppers, pomegranate molasses and walnuts and was very nicely presented with some nice olive oil in the middle of the bowl of dip. I also had the minted lemonade. All came out together for a delicious feast. The service was attentive but subtle. And when I went up to pay, everyone in the kitchen seemed happy and were having a good time and the lady at the cash was also very sweet. Seems like a family run operation. 100% will be back soon.“

We ordered through Uber but agreed to just order in person next time. The portions were a little smaller than we thought they would be even so the pricing is still very good.“

“We ended up at this restaurant purely by chance, but we were welcomed very warmly right away.
We got a lovely table and were even able to keep the pram right next to us, since our little baby can't sit up yet.
The drinks arrived very quickly and the selection of items on foodbar was huge. The food was absolutely delicious, piping hot and came out fairly fast. Someone regularly checked in to make sure everything was alright.

Value for money was absolutely top-notch.

They do have a few drink options such as coffee, hot, chocolate, etc. But they really focus on the gelato, which is great. They are in a building that has character, which lends a nice ambience to the gelato experience.“

“Wonderful, inclusive folks! Very nice staff, who were very helpful. This may seem like an odd thing to say, but it was really great that they made sure they rented an accessible portable washroom for their large market event. As I was sporting crutches (I recently broke my ankle), it was a total life saver that I didn’t need to take the stairs! Not sure if the port-a-potty is an “always” thing, but just the fact that they had it for their street market when so many folks wouldn’t even think of it made me grateful. “Yesterday, Betty and Andris were at the Turkish restaurant. A young Turkish guy came up to us, who turned out to be the manager of the restaurant. Betty praised the restaurant to death and mentioned that they were celebrating my birthday. After a while, Turkish birthday music began to play in the quiet restaurant. As I looked to the side, about 8 restaurant workers, - in beautiful black work clothes - led by the restaurant manager, slowly walked towards me, like at a wedding, and brought this baklava, with a burning candle. I almost cried. They are incredible!!! Thank you to the employees of Agha Turkish Restaurant. It was an unforgettable experience.“

“I was very impressed by the drinks, very very yummy! The cheesecake was also amazing. The decor was fresh and modern and pretty. Not as impressed with the tiramisu, which was an odd kind of foamy/gelatiny something. And they really need to get a handle on the amount of plastic waste - even the plastic forks were wrapped in plastic; each cake slice wrapped in plastic; plastic plastic plastic. At least find something biodegradable, there's things on the market now! I would definitely go again but I'd bring my own mug and fork.“

“Can’t believe I’ve only just discovered this place. We pass nearly everyday but the outside doesn’t represent the magic that is inside these doors. They roast their own beans, the products are so special (the spices!!) loose leaf teas. Sandwiches were delicious and everyone was so welcoming!“

“This was my second visit, and they did not dissapoint. Both times I have sat at the bar. The bar seats are comfortable. The staff is attentive and helpful. My first visit was on Canada Day in the middle of the rain storm, the place was packed. I was lucky enough to get a seat at the bar and the bartenders were just as attentive and prompt as they were my 2nd visit, on a random Thursday night. I will be back.“

“This is my husband and I's favourite sushi place in the city! The staff are all incredibly kind and helpful, the atmosphere is so nice, there's not a lot of seating which I personally love. We regularly eat in/take out and every time the food has been fresh, tasty and quick. You have to try their beef gyoza, I think it is the best I have ever had!! My husband is obsessed with the lobster roll!! I am not a big leave a review person, but I felt this place truly deserves all the stars!!!“
