“Proudly Canadian! What a wonderful dining experience!
I loved the clean look of the restaurant, minimal decorations, a nice soft colour pallet open and bright.
Our waitress Lizz was very professional with her way of greeting us saying “hello ladies!” (more on this later)
Lizz took our orders giving us enough time to look at the menu.
As I saw others food coming out of the kitchen (a beautiful set up as well) I got more excited, especially when the table beside us got their beautiful looking food delivered, when ours came I was not disappointed!
The plate was beautiful, eggs poached medium, ham and potatoes with some thin sliced red crisp onions, perfect temperature all served on beautiful stoneware, the toast was brought out in a basket to keep the toast from becoming soggy, the coffee was great too and served in a big mug, not the heavy stone kind, big enough I didn’t need a refill.

Lizz checked in with us a few times to see if we needed anything else, when we had finished paying Lizz said “thank you ladies for coming, hope to see you again”!
Lizz because of your greeting and the great food and atmosphere we definitely will be back!

In general when people are eating out weather it’s fast food, a pizza joint or dining in I find it a downer when a group of woman of all ages coming in together are greeted with “hi guys, or what can I get you guys, and when we are done and need to pay and are asked, can I get you guys the machine?” It sounds so unprofessional.
Every time I am mis-greeted I do take a moment to educate, I make suggestions, just say hello everyone or hello I hope you enjoy your meal today, anything else but hi guys!
Sadly before long they come back with “is there anything else I can get you guys?”
Lizz has it right! And it was the start of a positive experience.

I write this in hopes others in the service industry take notice, speak up and make changes, it seem small but it sure changes the atmosphere and we are paying your bills and we tip.“

“We went in on whim for brunch after seeing some good reviews and wow. The food was outstanding, which we could tell when we walked in because the restaurant smelled amazing. And It was nicely traditionally decorated and everything was neat and clean. The waiter was very friendly, and the menu was big but clear. We ordered: Kaak (traditional bread - kinda like a much better pita), the halloumi, shakshouka, a meat and cheese pie (large), and a dip I can’t recall the name of but it was made with roasted red peppers, pomegranate molasses and walnuts and was very nicely presented with some nice olive oil in the middle of the bowl of dip. I also had the minted lemonade. All came out together for a delicious feast. The service was attentive but subtle. And when I went up to pay, everyone in the kitchen seemed happy and were having a good time and the lady at the cash was also very sweet. Seems like a family run operation. 100% will be back soon.“

“Thank you for the wonderful meal. Very tasty! My partner and I ordered the peanut satay and lil'terry, it was delicious. Flavourful and cozy! We both agree that we would order it again. We ordered through Uber but agreed to just order in person next time. The portions were a little smaller than we thought they would be even so the pricing is still very good.“

“This was a first time here and Sue was so patient explaining how to build our bowls and the cost structure. We did the bowls by weight and all of us were really impressed how well they turned out. Delicious! This is great for gluten-free options, as my mom has Celiacs and was able to select from many food options. We will definitely return.“

This girl just made a fresh tortilla right in front of me!!! So soft and light crisp, heaven in a mouthful. And let’s give a standing ovation for the flavourful and juicy butter chicken filling.

And let me tell you, the portion size, I legit said “ holy smokes that thing’s big”✨ the price for it, so worth it✨ the friendly guy behind the counter ✨✨

This may seem like an odd thing to say, but it was really great that they made sure they rented an accessible portable washroom for their large market event. As I was sporting crutches (I recently broke my ankle), it was a total life saver that I didn’t need to take the stairs! Not sure if the port-a-potty is an “always” thing, but just the fact that they had it for their street market when so many folks wouldn’t even think of it made me grateful. Thank you for being the loveliest hosts! I’m not a coffee or tea drinker, but I’ll certainly tell all my friends about how kind the staff were!“

“I was very impressed by the drinks, very very yummy! The cheesecake was also amazing. The decor was fresh and modern and pretty. Not as impressed with the tiramisu, which was an odd kind of foamy/gelatiny something. And they really need to get a handle on the amount of plastic waste - even the plastic forks were wrapped in plastic; each cake slice wrapped in plastic; plastic plastic plastic. At least find something biodegradable, there's things on the market now! I would definitely go again but I'd bring my own mug and fork.“

“I prefer this location over the other location on Somerset. Both are great, but this one is just a tad better in terms of atmosphere and food.

Service is always great! Just keep in mind that it can get a little chilly during the winter because of the layout and there is limited seating so a wait time is expected during the dinner rush.“

“Can’t believe I’ve only just discovered this place. We pass nearly everyday but the outside doesn’t represent the magic that is inside these doors. They roast their own beans, the products are so special (the spices!!) loose leaf teas. Sandwiches were delicious and everyone was so welcoming!“

The service can be mixed. Overall they seem very friendly; one time I accidentally visited the establishment when they weren't open yet (about 1 hour early, I believe), and they let me dine in. Very thankful(They also gave me ice when I refilled my water bottle)

Other times, they forget to greet/check in on guests, so service can improve.
Wait times vary from being decent to being very long; understandably the staff is not big, but if you are very hungry, you might steer elsewhere.
Barring all that, the food is amazing. If you can eat here please do so 🙏“
