“Second Cup Coffee on Stranded Drive in Barrhaven exceeded all expectations! The cappuccino with almond milk was superb, complemented perfectly by their delectable carrot cake and sandwich. The standout, however, was the exceptional service provided by the server. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, they truly made the experience memorable. Five stars without a doubt!“

“Cozy, old-fashioned diner with decent food and very good service. I ordered a veggie omelette, which was generous in size and delicious. It's in the City View strip mall, so there's lots of free parking.Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian omelette, which is a very generous portion.“

“Nothing bad to say about the staff they do a great job but there's something always about this location and loitering no matter what time of day it feels like 3/4 of the restaurant is people nesting a coffee and you can tell they've been there hours. Just a little complaint as I'm there with 2 kids I kind of need a table to eat at.“

“I love this place. Been coming here with my best friend or family since high school (almost 15 years ago). Always had excellent service and the drinks always tasted great. All the baristas that have worked here have always been very kind with their customers. I can't wait to see this place updated a bit (a bit of renovations would be nice) but regardless I will keep coming back for the yummy drinks and kindest service. It feels like home !“

Robin's Donuts Coffee Shops • $
1600 Merivale Rd, Nepean

“I was so excited to see that Robin's Donuts opened up a location in Ottawa. This location opened February 12, 2024. Robin's Donuts is a Canadian donut chain that started in Thunder Bay. They seem to only have locations in smaller, less cosmopolitan cities (not sure what that says about Ottawa, haha, or maybe they are starting to explore the bigger markets). Even though they've been around for almost 50 years, growing up in Toronto, I had never heard of them before. They remind me of how Tim Hortons used to be, like in the 1990s. That's a compliment, haha. Donuts were bigger, and the food was better. I got 2 Rise 'n Shine Specials for my husband and I. They come with a "brekwich" or a breakfast bagel and a hashbrown. The brekwich combo is $5 and the bagel combo is $6. I was going to get the brekwich, but they said they ran out of the brekwich bread (this was 1pm on a Sunday), so I got the bagel. I got a bacon and egg, and a sausage, cheese and egg. They asked me what bagel I wanted and pointed at the choices on a sign, at I first selected the cheese bagel but then noticed that there was an extra $0.70 charge for that, so I changed my choice to the plain bagel. I also got a Bismarck ($1.59) which was a Boston Cream donut with vanilla icing drizzled on top. The bacon and egg bagel came with iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato. I liked that it had some vegetables. The vegetables were fresh and everything tasted good. The sausage, cheese and egg bagel did not have any vegetables. So I was a bit disappointed with that. However, it still tasted good and I liked the mildly spicy kick to the sausage. The hashbrown was unremarkable. It tasted like the Cavendish hashbrowns you get frozen from the grocery store. The Bismarck was good. I liked that it was big. Bigger than Tim Hortons donuts these days. Closer in size to how big Tim Hortons donuts were in the 90s. However, the donut could have had more cream in it. The amount of cream was a bit stingy in my opinion. On another visit I got the apple fritter ($1.99). It was a bit too dense and hard/crispy for my tastes. I liked the Bismarck better. The ambiance is fast food, but feels like how Tim Hortons used to be. They also have egg salad sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches, and different soups like the Tim Hortons of days past. If you are nostalgic for the Tim Hortons of days gone by, I'd recommend checking out Robin's Donuts. This is a standalone store. Free parking is available in their parking lot. (32)“

Take Another Bite Coffee • $$
148 Colonnade Rd S Unit #11, Nepean

“This cafe was recommended by the salesperson in next door. So despite the google review I still gave it a shot, I’m glad I did. Since they offered so many different stuff. It’s hard to make decisions right away. The staff was friendly and shared with me what they offered. At the end I tried a sweet and salty cookie and it was wonderful. I wish I have grabbed more stuff. The café atmosphere is very welcoming. Their other savoury menu looks great. Would love to try again next time.“
