Went to a few bars before this one to watch football. Several were not showing the games, one bar's TVs were cutting out or freezing so we walked over to this one. Bartender was great! Put game on we wanted and it was quieter in this bar so we could hear the game. Was a great time and I would go there again.
Good place to hang out and meet local oneonta residents. Everyone is usually friendly and the staff are responsive to customers needs. Always a good beer or 2 on draft. They also have draft sales occasionally.

Had a damn good night at the Black Oak Tavern a week or so ago. Good prices, good music, and a good bartender. What more could a man want in Oneonta on a cold night in December. Thank you Wayne till I darken the door of the Oak Tavern again.
