Great restaurant and bar. Very cool interior
I have been searching for a legit Beef Wellington for years, and finally found one here. Did not disappoint.
My husband and I went to The Cellar on a Saturday evening. We had reservations at 5, but arrived a bit early (4:30) and we're seated promptly. The service was excellent, and we didn't wait long for our food or drinks at all. I had the Seared Ahi Tuna as an appetizer, followed by the Seafood Czarnia - both of which were exceptional. The Cellar Restaurant & Lounge on the River is a wonderful hidden gem in Owego, offering a world-class atmosphere with multiple distinct vibes. The space features a classy and relaxed main dining room and bar with rich woods, leather, soft lighting, and elegant artwork. A back dining room overlooks the Susquehanna River, and there is also a porch area. The atmosphere is lovely, clean, and spot on.
The food is absolutely delicious, the best in the area, and plated very attractively. Standout dishes include the signature French Onion Burger, described as the best burger ever, perfectly cooked steaks, petite surf & turf, and the best French Onion Soup ever had. For brunch, all dishes are loved. Starters like the house bread and Cajun calamari are delish, and desserts like the Chef’s homemade Peanut Butter pie are a showstopper. Portions are average and prices are very reasonable.
The restaurant offers wonderful craft cocktails, a curated wine list, and a fun selection of beers on tap. Service is exceptional, friendly, and accommodating. It is the perfect place to gather, eat, and drink, a solid addition to Owego’s lineup that comes highly recommended.
