In 1970; my parents made the same decision countless others did; joining the great migration to the suburbs, determined to find a nice, safe place to settle and raise a family in one of the most highly-rated school districts in America. I'm an old lady now and I am so pleased to see that little has changed at All American, because...it was perfect. I have tears in my eyes looking at the photos and remembering the countless summer nights we'd scrounge for change in the couch cushions, Mom's purse, anywhere-- and it was always enough to get a hot delicious burger, fries, drink and even a grilled cheese or ar knish. We'd sit along the benches on the sides; happily stuffing our faces, completely unaware of just how lucky we were, or that this cherished icon would still stand half a century later; looking much as it did then-- even though we certainly don't! I know this treasure has received some well-deserved love from the show: Diner's, Drive-in's and Dives and that guy obviously has good taste! “Just tried this place out tonight. Ordered a mix shawarma, a chicken shawarma and falafel. I didn't expect much from this place, since it was dead and was 1 lady working in the whole place. I was so surprised, the food was so fresh and the shawarma was burrito size. The taste was really good, I only wish I ask for some hot sauce on the side. The falafel was very crispy. Falafel to me are usually dry as he'll, but they give you a super thick white sauce (like cream cheese consistency). Which made the falafel tasted very moist. I didn't take any pics of the food, because I wasn't expecting much. Going back tomorrow to try the chicken biryani, since they only sell that on sat & sun.“
