This was a great mini-break (2 nights) for our family with 2 kids (8 & 10). A little shabby around the edges (see note about renovating as they go), but a good pool and the kind of place where your kids make friends with the other kids and beg to come back soon for another weekend. Also SUPER dog friendly, which is a bonus for us but might not be as appealing to a visitor who doesn’t like dogs.

Catskill Mountain Lodge is a peaceful and cute place to stay in the Catskills. The staff is friendly, and guests may find pleasant surprises like a "Happy birthday" note. However, the lodge is a bit outdated and not well maintained, with issues like a ripped basketball net and dirty pool walls. The breakfast is simple, with just a muffin, juice, cornflakes, and coffee. The wifi signal is weak and spotty, mainly available in the main building. Despite some drawbacks, it's a decent place to stay for a day or two, especially considering the quiet and beautiful location. Just be aware that the lodge restaurant may not be in service during your visit, something they should inform guests about in advance.
