“I've been coming from Orange County every week for the last 2 years to watch my grandsons a few days each week. We make it part of our day to take a walk and always stop in for a snack or a sandwhich. Sam and his wife are lovely, friendly people and always make a fuss over the babies. “Places like this are why I say Long Island NY has the best food in the world. The staff looks and acts like they're focused on quality food and service. The deli itself is clean and organized. Get one of their sandwiches (I recommend corned beef) and for about 12 bucks you have a fine lunch or dinner.“

“Came to New York from Florida and was on the hunt for an authentic deli for the famous BECSPK and came across brothers deli.
Upon walking in, the young man at the register was dealing with a customer fighting over 5 cents trying to scam the store. I watched it all unfold. The worker kept his cool, stayed firm on his response and professional.
Even after the customer left he didn’t complain about the interaction! I like that!
We joked and talked about visiting home ( NY) after being away for many years and the nostalgic candies we saw waiting.
Needless to say, we came back almost daily for their breakfast. Absolutely perfect, they accommodated our allergy request and was greeted with a smile and nice conversation each time. There is something special about knowing your value in a store and they definitely made us feel welcome, for a little corner deli, They are making a nice footprint in the community!
We would love to comeback and say hi during our next visit!

They have the best bacon and egg sandwiches and their tuna and chicken salads are always a welcome sight back home. Their bagels are always fresh and flavorful no matter what variety I get. I've come to know the owner, Boris, and his staff, and they are always most helpful. Looking forward to my next trip to Merrick.“

“I was working locally and decided to grab lunch from Wheeler Deli after reading the reviews. The deli is smaller and quaint but has a large case of Boars Head meats, salads, and desserts. I ordered an American Hero, sides of macaroni salad, and potato salad, and a piece of the banana bread. They got right to making my order and the wait time was less than 5 minutes. My sandwich was fresh, crisp, and delicious. The salads were creamy and had great flavor. The banana bread was outstanding; dense and sweet and flavorful. The total for food and a drink was less than $25 which was a great value. I’ll be back.“

“The hot food here (Latin Food) is made fresh daily and it's pretty. You get a decent portion for 1 for $5. Breakfast sandwiches starting at $3 so you can't go wrong and the cold cut hero's are enormous to some really good brewed coffee. Not much on the negative to say except that it would be nice if they carried a larger variety of drink but from canned goods to cleaning supplies to house hold items and an ATM this deli has a lot to offer at good prices.“

“Fresh meats. Special considerations with cold cuts. Especially cheese and thinly sliced meats. When buying cold cuts, there’s nothing worst then having a clump of meat to peel apart. It does take a few minutes to assure the meats are separated and using additional sheets of paper, but this is the difference in keeping or losing a customer. A true Italian Salumeria understands this and takes the pride in what and how their foods are delivered. Thank you.“

“Deli Boy makes great sandwiches. Very fresh and tasty ingredients. I only recently moved to the area so I have been to a few delis in the freeport Baldwin area. I would say that all my orders have been over the phone for pick up. Because of COVID I wont open rh e sandwhich but all of my sandwiches I have asked for cheese but everytime I get home .....there is none. Its my faukt though I know netter to watch my food being prepared and making sure all the ingredients are there. AI havent really fully enjoyed the sandwich becuae its missing a key ingredient. It hapoened again today. Gbey write the order down perfect on the ticjetbut the sandwich doesnt have evefything on it . “Our go-to place every time we visit Long Island. While their sandwiches are great, I’ve gotta say that their sausage is fantastic- it’s a toss up between the hot Italian or the fennel sausage, both are made in house. Wish I had a place like this near where I live in New Jersey.“

“I started going to Jim's in the early 90's. This would be the spot I would hit with Uniondale natives Leaders of the New School before hitting Chung King Studio in NYC to be deafened by Busta Rhymes turning those 15 inch studio speakers up to 10 🤣.

My go to was the hot pastrami on a hero. I didn't think it was a better sandwich in the world.

As the years went on, I still visited this deli. It always was a familiar neighborhood staple. It even kept the same aesthetic.

What was super impressive is they knew the regulars by name and what they wanted to order. All you had to do was show up.

I visited today and was hit with a whole new Jim's. The old cash register on the left is now a hot food station. Said cash registers now on the right with an LCD readout.

There is a coffee station in the middle of the floor. Chairs and walking space occupied this space prior. This now places a wall in the middle of the floor. Although it disrupts the Feng shui, clearly a functional because there's a lot of coffee options. That goes great with the bagel and pastry selections that have been added as well.

They have seem to expanded those pastry options. As well as added fresh bagels at 12 for 9 dollars

The worker that helped me today was very attentive and a Uniondale native as well.

The new owners kept some familiar elements like the extensive custom sandwiches brightly displayed on LCD screens. But a lot of it has changed and the new owners definitely made it their own.

It's nice to be greeted with a bright and clean establishment that sells food. That is one of the things I look for.

I will definitely visit again and see it It lives up to that Jim's legacy“

“The hot Chopped Cheese hoagie is very, very good. The best that I have had on Long Island. Staff are kind and friendly. Open late; which is always great, but remember that it's in the West End of Long Beach, which has more locations serving booze into the wee hours than Burning Man, and so things can get dicey down on Beech Street after 10 pm. But the Chopped Cheese is worth it.“
