“Had the pleasure of choosing Tara Inn for lunch today, every establishment can learn a lesson from the customer service that my friend and I experienced. Upon walking in we were greeted by Peter, Tara’s husband and son-in-law of the founder who named the bar for his daughter 47 years ago. We told him it was our first visit and he offered us seats and welcomed us. The regulars at the bar guided us through the menu and we each had a burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles for $1 per burger expecting very small burgers we were surprised to find them standard sized and deliciously prepared to medium. My friend had the fried shrimp and I had a $13 steamed lobster! Excellent! They offer daily specials and one of the gentleman at the bar told me their steaks are very good. Every staff person went out of their way to make us feel at home. A charismatic women came out from the back and introduced herself as Tara she thanked us for choosing to lunch there. Why can’t other places realize the importance of making a first time patron feel welcome. I
Had a great afternoon enjoying the excellent variety of beers that they provide on tap. The charming decor has probably changed little since the ‘70s and that adds to the vibe. If you want to go to the friendliest bar on Long Island, head over to Tara Inn.“

“I hadn't been to an IHOP in over a decade and never one back home on Long Island. I went with my eldest son to this one at his request (his first time at this location, too) and had a clean restaurant, friendly staff and excellent breakfast food. Definitely a pleasant experience - and funny thing... Even the to go container for the food I couldn't finish was top shelf! Honestly, it was better than a container I got from a $500 per person meal at a steak house!

They had a deal going where you choose your foods and they make you a platter/dish of food that I could not finish in one sitting, neither could my unc lol it was a lot of good food..did I mention it was only $7 a plate?! “Last Wednesday I was at Davis vision works and we walk to the restaurant for lunch whem we get the we were standing up for almost 15 minutes waiting for someone to give us a table. finally whem someone come to us and without asking if we need a table rigth away he say is was 15 mint wait, me while the restaurant wasn't even packed it was a lot of table empty and even like that he was going to make us to wait more. really bad service and rude attention. we have money to pay it wasn't like we were asking for a free table. people are really racist at this place. “horrible experience. went before we saw vic dibitetto at staller center and they offered us 20% off our bill because of the show. made a reservation online and we were seatly pretty quickly but it pretty much went downhill from there. they had one waitress and she was overwhelmed. food took an hour and was cold by the time we got it. lesson learned and we wont be going again.“

“I had an issue on uber eats where my food wasn’t made correctly from a separate location. I called and honestly wasn’t the kindest at first because I thought I wasted my money. Both the worker at the front and Kevin the owner were so so kind despite it and helped this issue and made me a new order for half off. They were extremely kind and caring and I apologized over and over for my mistake as I also didn’t realize it was a separate location. They were so kind and so helpful I really appreciate their help as well as how this was handled.“

“I wish I could give it a full five stars but they tend to do worse when ordering delivery. In person, they're great. Delicious, fresh, hot, full five stars. Delivery brings it down to four stars, sadly. Somethings always missing, unfortunately. Like, I've ordered a coffee with meals via delivery and over the course of a dozen deliveries it's been missing every time.“
